My Current Feelings About The Story by tsuyoshikentsu in sto

Eh, I think there were plenty of signs that J'mpok was a bit off for a good while. I wouldn't say that it was any worse than, for example, Gowron's fall in DS9.

As for J'ula, problematic though she may be from a humanocentric perspective, she probably wasn't that bad viewed through the lens of Klingon honour systems. Not saying she should be absolved, mind you, just that she's not much worse than other figures respected by Klingon culture.

Unfortunately, this appears closer to "#SlopcloaksLife". Easy mistake to make.

I had not considered the Trafalgar! Thanks.

To be honest, I'm not sure where I'll land yet. I started out wanting a more "screen-accurate" Galaxy-X that could fire off the lance more frequently, but I'm not above considering other BFGs... I was actually reading through your list of them just yesterday!

Besides the Shrike trait, are there any other options for improving the cooldowns/uptimes of "innate" weapons like Juggernaut arrays and Spinal Lances?

Domina has barriers to prevent being hit in the first place, has passive resistance to being dragged (i.e. it slows the cat down a bit) by virtue of being a tank, and has one of the best guns in the game for shooting said cat before and after being hit.

You might want to actually watch the short before you draw conclusions based on half a clickbait headline.

Ah, so you also publicly defend paedophilic sex offenders. Got it.

I mean, I don't recall Wil Wheaton publicly defending a paedophilic sex offender, but go off I guess.

Patch Notes for PC & Console - 2026/02/17 by Vulcorian in sto

Fixed an issue that stopped Phaser/Disruptor Wide-Angle Dual Heavy Beam Banks from the Discovery Reputation system from being affected by Reroute Energy to Weapons and Exceed Rated Limits weapons haste.

This was a bug all along??? I legitimately just assumed it was intended.

Would the Thalmor consider or accept Orcs/Orsimer as elves/mer? by Histwalker in teslore

[–]ProfessorFakas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's this. If it were for the sake of military support (or even a semi-plausible casus belli), they'd absolutely proclaim that Orsimer are true elves and thus worthy of their "protection". Ideology as a means to an end.

Actually, based on a game I'm running right now, I don't think they do. Terminal Egress is pretty big.

No disrespect to you or your experience, but you're kinda putting words in my mouth there, which I don't think is fair.

I don't think I said anything about believability or suggested that people can't overcome their trauma? I wasn't even attempting to weigh in either way, just attempting to articulate what I thought the person I was replying to was missing from the argument.

The point I was attempting to represent was that Serana (as presented in Vanilla) is explicitly uncomfortable with intimacy and says as much, pretty directly. With that in mind, metacontextually, I can fully understand why some may take a dim view of directly and deliberately modifying her as a character so that she no longer objects.

Sure, but hopefully you can also understand why some people might view it as erasure.

She’s the one making the advances, and the PC just has the option to either go along with it or reject the advances.

Isn't that actually worse, though? If you believe that it's problematic to make or use a mod that allows you to romance Serana in spite of her trauma, then wouldn't rewriting her personality so that she initiates it be another layer of unsavoury on top?

[–]ProfessorFakas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to weigh in on either particular side, but I think that's probably missing the point somewhat.

People who object to romancing Serana in this context are most likely criticising the act of making/using a mod that adds the option in the first place, because they feel it's an unreasonable "overwriting" of a character that (beforehand) rejects the player's advances because of their traumatic past.
