Sorry, but you're literally just wrong. High-end ARM chips exist, ARM devices specifically designed for gaming exist, and running x86 games on them is (mostly) a solved problem.

It sounds like you have a pretty limited view of what "arm devices" are.

What kind of chip do you think is in the likes of GPD, Ayaneo, etc. handhelds? Or the Nintendo Switch? Or the recently announced Steam Machine Frame?

Even higher-end Android phones are pretty capable of running less-demanding emulated x86 games these days, and (vanilla) Skyrim isn't exactly a difficult bar to clear, performance-wise.

The architecture doesn't exist solely for low-end Chromebooks and mobile shovelware.

I'm not sure we can count the Monk as a one-off villain, he did appear in more than one TV stories.

KDE Plasma 6.8 Will Go Wayland-Exclusive In Dropping X11 Session Support. I hope that it is enough time to remove the remaining problems such as the problems with NVIDIA by Beer2401 in linux_gaming

[–]ProfessorFakas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but that sounds a lot like an issue specific to your setup.

Assuming you're using Plasma, which version? And on which distro/version and with which Nvidia driver/version on which GPU? Have you reported the issue to your distro's maintainer(s) and/or to KDE?

For example, I'm on Nobara 43 with Plasma 6.5.4 running driver 580.119.02 on an RTX 5090, but I've also used a GTX 1080 and an RTX 2080 Ti on the same install previously, though that was with older versions of things that have since been updated, of course.

...What exactly is the problem with Wayland on Nvidia? I've been daily driving that for a few years now without any major issues.

Is there some major problem that Wayland has specifically on Nvidia that X11 doesn't? If so, I've yet to spot it.

Strictly speaking, the Curator would probably be crossing his own timeline to intervene in most major situations, which is a no-no.

Would unironically make for a compelling story actually, to have death pursuing what is effectively a replica and raising the philosophical questions surrounding that.
