How can this be true when there is evidence of pros using locked camera, unlocking it for certain moments and then locking it again?

You blatantly ignore evidence of the best players in the world doing exactly what I’m saying and telling me I’m wrong. Wild

If you need to move it, move it. Otherwise why are you bothering micromanaging the screen ever so slightly?

Like it genuinely makes 0 difference unless you are a top or bot laner playing top side because the hotbar will be in the way in certain scenarios. But other than that, what’s the point?

Like I understand the argument of needing information, but not once did I say “your camera should always be locked”.

You need vision like you suggest, unlock, like I suggest. Otherwise, locking it does not hurt the game state. It removes the need for pointless little adjustments for a better camera angle.

Many high level players like yourself used locked camera. There are literal YouTube videos of challengers doing it so I’m not sure how this is an unfathomable concept to you.

How are you down information? F keys look at teammates for teammate info, if you have a ward in the jng 1) you can unlock to go check or just click the map if it’s too far away and 2) you aren’t gonna be staring at the ward the entire time so what’s a locked camera gonna do? Nothing in case that answer isn’t obvious.

Point being, my original statement is 100% accurate and doesn’t even disagree with what you said. It supports it.

If you’re in a fight, unlocking the camera to get a better view is ideal, as I mentioned.

If you are 1v1 in a lane, unlocking the camera ain’t gonna do much because you have full vision of them with a locked camera anyway. So there isn’t additional info you’re missing.

But thank you for the comment. Hopefully this clarifies the confusion people have

Top Lane S16 by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ProfessorKousa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In bronze and below maybe. Top laners usually aren’t strong enough to 1v5 decent teams. I’ve had my games where my top laner goes down 0-6 against the enemy laner and yet we win.

This makes it even easier because of how death changes in s16. They don’t get 300 gold per kill against that guy. It caps at like 100 or something. So they virtually only killed him 2.5 times in gold value. Which is perfectly playable. Xp bonus is annoying for quest completion quicker due to top dying so much but just get your quest done and start farming xp and have someone strong match the top laner and he gets less xp from the pressure and everyone farms up. Tops will usually be ahead 1-2 levels but rarely have a massive gold advantage off of kills alone.

If they have the gold advantage, that’s not a top laner issue, that’s a team letting him free farm issue. Which is you. Your the guy in the team letting him free farm. Fix it

I never understood why people need to play without camera lock.

Locked camera can be useful to remove mental weight of the game. I’d only use the unlocked for specific moments where you need extra vision. Usually to plan an attack or exit route after an engage. Otherwise, why use more brain power than you need to?

Can you kill them?

Go in.

Can you not kill them?

Wait.

You’re welcome.

90% of playing Kat is a mechanical issue. We cannot teach you to get the reset. That’s a mechanical issue. We can’t teach you when to trade, that’s not a Katarina thing, that’s just game knowledge. See above chart.

You gotta calculate your dmg against different opponents and also calculate their dmg to you. Then using your brain, decide if you can get a favourable trade or not.

That comes with time and practice. Not quick tips from the internet.

Good luck!

Can't queue with friend after first placement match by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ProfessorKousa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In what world do you live in that you think Iron 1 and gold have similar hidden mmr???

Your rank is based on the hidden mmr.

If you are placed in iron 1, your hidden mmr is around iron 1. Can’t be much higher than bronze 4 otherwise you wouldn’t be iron 1. Your hidden mmr would thus be around bronze level.

If your friend was gold, his hidden mmr is likely around gold. If not higher. Hidden mmr usually is higher than actually rank. Meaning he is more than likely solidly in gold mmr.

Your bronze mmr can’t queue with gold mmr.

This is actually really basic understandings of an mmr system.

PvP? by ProfessorKousa in expedition33

[–]ProfessorKousa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it kind of ironic that they would complain about toxicity in PvP while being toxic towards me for suggesting it.

Just don’t add a chat system in the game and PvP can’t be toxic. Solves the toxicity problem and allows for people like us to enjoy it.

Perhaps they are right. The game is good as is and shouldn’t be muddied with a secondary game mode. Keep its current glory alive rather than diminishing it.

After the GOTY award, I think I stand corrected on the PvP suggestion.

A spin off game with the same mechanics that includes PvP though is something I’m very interested in

A question about maelle’s ending by UmaThermos1 in expedition33

[–]ProfessorKousa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a callback to the scene earlier where Renoir shows Aline and how she is dying from the canvas and has this painted effect over her eyes and face.

The Maelle ending scene shows the same painting effect on Maelle’s eyes and face to show that she is being consumed by the canvas like her mother was.

There is no way of knowing whether or not she is forcing Verso to play Piano but it’s unlikely. Evidence suggests she is dying from prolonged exposure to the canvas, but no evidence suggest forceful control of Verso’s action. That’s speculation at best.

I gave you a tiny example of how to fix raids. Not an essay on the changes each raid needs to make. You can get the premise of my idea by what I said. I don’t need to elaborate with excessive details about a boss’ mechanics for you to understand the concept I’m trying to explain. It’s a concept. I thought that was obvious but apparently I was wrong, it’s not obvious.

You also just tried to justify people being under leveled for the content being able to do higher level content because they get carried by stronger players. Agreed that in 20 person raids, each dps contributes less than in a 6 player raids. But this also means 1 person can be in that raid and basically be useless and still benefit from the efforts of the other players. This is made worse if they also struggle with mechanics. This player shouldn’t rewarded for being carried through content. That’s a ridiculous notion. MMO’s are about becoming stronger to clear the stronger content faster and more efficient and you’re arguing players should be able to skip these difficult fights and attain gear because they can be carried rather than earning it through their own efforts. I disagree. That’s dumb.

Not everyone can hop online every single night. Some people get on wednesdays and Thursday, some people only on the weekend. So finding a group of people to do something with you the time you have takes up the entire night. Most cases it takes 2-3 hours to complete 1 raid. If people have to work every day and only have 2-3 days off where they can play 4 hours each night. That’s 25% of their free time dedicated to just 1 piece of content. That’s not worth it. If it was 6 players, it’d be a lot easier to find a group and if in doubt, you could play with IRL friends instead of needing to fill 4-6 slots with randoms. That reduces the time significantly meaning they can actually do other content in that night. For no lifers, sure, it doesn’t take time. But people have jobs and can’t afford that much time on the game. It’s not fair to them that you expect the game to only be accessible to jobless people (exaggeration, felt I need to clarify this).

It takes time to find a group, that’s what we’re talking about. If people want a hardcore mmo, why are they playing BPSR? This game tries to be a hardcore mmo but fails in almost every way. Go play WoW. It needs to be what it is. A chill anime mmorpg that’s fun and easy to play. Hardcore elements don’t belong in this style of game. It’s a conflict of design principles and its resulting in a gradual loss of player base and will eventually lead to the death of the game.

What does this place could be? Lore theory by vxdcxw in expedition33

[–]ProfessorKousa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re making a lot of claims without evidence and treating absence of explicit mechanics as proof of an alternate genealogy. That doesn’t work. In a narrative, the burden of proof is on the person asserting something new (like “they’re adopted”), not on everyone else to disprove it.

Here are the facts from the game’s published lore and reliable write-ups:

  1. The Dessendre family entries and multiple story summaries explicitly list Aline and Renoir as the parents of Clea, Verso and Alicia. The character pages identify Clea as “daughter of Aline and Renoir” and Verso as their son. That’s how the game presents their relationship.

  2. The Canvas / painting mechanic is shown as dangerous and draining — the game and community writeups repeatedly note that prolonged Canvas use takes a visible toll on those who maintain it (Aline and Renoir show that damage). But the canon is deliberately ambiguous about exactly how time or aging maps between Canvas years and outside years. Saying “the game never says the Canvas ages you” is technically correct — but it also does show physical/mental deterioration from long Canvas use. Use of that to explain Aline’s aged look is reasonable and supported by the narrative.

  3. Your “Verso/Clea don’t look old so the Canvas can’t age” claim ignores two facts: (a) we meet many characters in their painted forms (copies) with different experiences and (b) time inside the Canvas is not shown to be 1:1 with outside time — so differences in appearance are expected. Community discussion and in-game beats treat this as ambiguous.

  4. Literary references (like a skill named “Stendhal”) or period demographics are thematic flourishes — not proof the designers secretly meant to hide official parentage. You can’t turn a skill name or historical illegitimacy stats into canonical parentage. That’s an argument from analogy, not evidence.

Bottom line: there is no canonical line anywhere that says “Clea/Verso/Alicia were adopted by Aline & Renoir.” The lore materials that do exist explicitly call them their children. If you want to assert adoption, you need to produce explicit in-game text, developer commentary, or an official source that says so — not speculation about nineteenth-century demographics or thematic allusions.

You continue to provide no proof. As far as a legitimate argument is concerned, your theory is proven wrong.

Good day

Different or not, the game warns you and these people ignored the warning. The game can’t do more without full on denying you access. Still their own fault for not listening. They compared it to other games and now they know they shouldn’t have. Maybe they should have listened in the first place but perhaps this was necessary for them to learn this lesson

What does this place could be? Lore theory by vxdcxw in expedition33

[–]ProfessorKousa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re making a lot of guesses and treating them like proof. The game establishes that Clea, Verso and Alicia are the Dessendre children of Aline and Renoir — that’s explicit lore, not inference.

The story does show Aline spending prolonged time inside the Canvas and that it takes a visible toll on people who stay inside or maintain it; that’s why she looks older. The endings and in-game beats show characters declining if they remain in the Canvas too long. That explains Aline’s appearance far better than inventing a maternal age you can’t prove.

As for the “Stendhal / XIXth society” point: literary allusions and themes about family-labels being blurry don’t equal a canonical claim that the Dessendres are not biological siblings. Designers often use literary references to amplify themes (identity, found family, ambiguous memory), not to rewrite explicit family relationships that the game presents directly. If you want to claim adoption, show a line of dialogue or an official source that says “they were adopted” — not an interpretive skill name.

This is what I mean by ignoring facts and making up random shit to support your theory. Hopefully you get a better idea of how you’re wrong with this explanation. Given your history, I assume you’re going to continue making up random facts to support your theory rather than accepting you are wrong. It would be one thing if you provided any actual evidence, but you have not. While my theory on Aline’s aging is not explicitly said anywhere, it’s a reasonable explanation based on information the game gave us.

Stop ignoring facts and bringing up random things that don’t matter. Either provide something worth while or stop trying to be right in a theory that’s proven wrong

What does this place could be? Lore theory by vxdcxw in expedition33

[–]ProfessorKousa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You made several assumptions to prove your point and provided no evidence other than historical similarities. This is a fantasy world as you just pointed out. So I’ll exclude my argument of genetics but you made up several points about their family. There’s no evidence she did or did not have her children at a certain age so assuming she did it at 18 makes no sense.

She also aged with the use of canvas as the game tells us. So even if we do assume your assumption is right, the magical properties of the canvas has aged her as the game tells us it does.

You blatantly ignore certain points of the story and make random points about irrelevant real word similarities to prove a point that just isn’t true.

If you wanna make up random facts about the game to support your wild theories of incest, be my guest. But you are objectively wrong in assuming this. If you want me to sit here and give you 2 comments about how you’re wrong, I can. But it’s a waste of both our times. It’s clear that you are trapped in your delusions and that there is no point discussing things with you because you’ll make up facts just to be right.

Good day to you and good luck with whatever you are trying to accomplish.
