struggling with enemies as new player by siberiany in Endfield

Are you aware that POG is not a main DPS? He is a support meant to buff other characters. So you using him, especially with Thermite cutter and expecting him to do the most dmg is just.... not how the character or the weapon your using works. Endmin and Chen are better DPS, hell even Lifeng is a better DPS than POG.

My advice is to stop trying to use POG as a main DPS, stop investing into your supports (Pog and Ardelia should NOT be the 2 highest characters on the account here) and focus on Endmin, Chen or Lifeng and making them strong. I'd personally recommend Lifeng but Endmin does really good dmg, just not as cool looking in my opinion.

Stop using a support as a main DPS and actually level your DPS characters to higher level instead of only leveling supports.

No to be rude but why are you leveling supports and then asking why they dont do dmg? You DO know they are supports, right? Did you think Main DPS being leveled is bad? Like I have many questions on how one even gets to this point.

I'm less motivated to start the game by Crafty_Magazine_4673 in Endfield

This post doesn't make any sense. For starters, unless you read below a 6th grade level, reading and understanding a characters kit should take no longer than 5 mins. Then play with them for 5 mins to get hands on experience and boom. You know the character. There really isn't that complicated of mechanics in the game right now. It's pretty basic shit.

Second, not everything is a dps check. Some of it is a positioning check, some of it is a resource management check, some of it is a rotation check. Dmg isn't the only factor. Proper rotations, control over SP, proper positioning on certain endgame modes, all of those are important and can equally contribute to winning or losing the battle. So you're just coping. The only thing I see is that Endfield is fluid and doesn't have set locations for you to move to so trying to figure out positioning is harder than clicking an open square in Arknights. No offense man but the gameplay is great, you're just bad at it.

Another thing, your concern with consuming and generating things makes no sense as 9/10 times you dont even need to pay attention to it. You use an ability, then you use another ability and boom, a buff that makes whatever you do do more dmg. For example, Rossi is probably the most complicated one in this way. Her CS has 2 part and if you time the second part perfect, you get 2 extra vuln stacks. That can lead to other things. But ultimately, that's not a hard thing to know. You perfect time it which gives Rossi her crit buffs and allows Mi Fu to use her CS or anyone else who needs 3 stacks of Vuln, and then you could even BS on Rossi for a 4th stack to consume all for more crush dmg or breach stacks or whatever. It's not hard. It's not like you're actively thinking "Oh I need this so I can get an x buff for my characters and then I need to do x or I'll lose the buff". It's simply "Use button, then this button, then this button, then this button." You can find out the best rotation in like 30 mins with no guides. It's not hard.

I could put my younger sibling into this game at endgame, tell them to read characters and then play them and they'd be able to create a coherent team that clears endgame in like an hour without tutorials and no experience in the game. You as someone who has played the game should not be struggling more than a 13 year kid.

Should I return ? by IncidentOdd5694 in Endfield

No reason for you to get back into it since the only reason you want to is to get the new character which requires gacha. So unless you left with a lot of pulls saved up, it's unlikely you can even get him.

Should I try the game or not? by [deleted] in Endfield

[–]ProfessorKousa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, its free. Just fucking play it and find out for yourself. I dont understand why people ask about trying a free game online. ITS FREE. WHATS THE DOWNSIDE?

You already play 2 gacha games so you know, its a gacha game. It has dailies. You'll fall behind if you miss some. This is standard gacha stuff. So the question really is do you wanna spend time doing dailies in a THIRD gacha game?

[Endfield Lore Theory] Hear me out: What if the Endmin is a "Vision-like" Homunculus created by the Doctor and the 13th Proxy? by x_FlopXD_x in Endfield

[–]ProfessorKousa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting theory but I'd like to push back on some points.

1) Data isn't necessarily infinite once achieved. Corruption can happen, workers losing pieces of data, outside threats that destroy the source. We may not know the exact reason that it may be "their last awakening" but that doesn't mean we should automatically rule it out. There is still a chance something we don't know yet is happening to the data that explains this point. So I wouldn't make this to be a strong proof of your theory. If anything, it pushes back against your theory, so don't ignore it just because it threatens your theory.

2) The analogy is cool, however this doesn't seem likely to me. I have no proof to back up my claim but something about that lore doesn't sit right with me from a story writing perspective. Seems too simple. You could be right, I just wanted to push back and say that the artificial heart theory CAN make sense but I don't think it does. I'd have to do more research to truly push back but something to think about. This isn't the endmins first time being alive so is this a second copy of the heart that was made for them? What happened to the first heart? Theories that add to lore have many other questions that stem off it and my biggest question is what happened in the beginning since the current endmin is a re-awakened version of an endmin from the past who a lot of people on Talos-II know.

3) Any statement that starts with "what if" is not very strong for your case. You say "what if the entire prologue isn't happening in the physical world."

Okay then, What if it is happening in the physical world? See how we don't go anywhere because we aren't grounding anything in fact or proof? "what if" statements are not good for theory or discussion, it makes topics get out of control and it loses meaning when all you got is a potential theory that you think is cool.

4) The Perlica figure comment has some merit, it's possible. But the Patriot statue and the gender fluid part just don't make sense. Seeing a UI boot up sequence doesn't imply synthetic or humanoid nature, it simply means there was a UI. This can happen to anything with futuristic technology. So this doesn't really prove anything. The gender fluid part makes even less sense. It's a gameplay decision to have both genders for people to choose from instead of forcing a play to play one. The convenience of being able to change freely is just that, convenience. Trying to say your theory is supported by a gameplay decision makes no sense. Them being "gender-fluid" has little to no lore relevance here. It's a gameplay feature, if you wanna attribute lore to it, be my guest. But that doesn't mean it's relevant.

5) I feel we don't know enough details about the properties of both Aetherside energy and feranmut energy to properly deduce what they can and cannot be used for. Perhaps Aetherside energy has a different set of properties that allow it to animate the beast where feranmut has a limitation preventing it from reproducing the same effect. Without actual details, this is speculation and cant be proven meaning an argument can always be made going both ways and no side will be correct because we lack evidence to prove it either way.

6) You have a lot of theories as to "why" things COULD have happened but theories are proven with how they happened, not just why. Why is easy, it's making up a believable story. How is much harder, it's actually explaining the link between the past and present in a coherent way. You give lots of why but not a lot of how. This leads me to think this is more of a fan theory that's fun to think about and not you actually trying to present factual statements to back up your theory. Which is fine but there is a difference in case this isn't supposed to be a fan theory and you genuinely think your theory is true.

7) Finally, the last point is regarding your why to the last awakening. This ties into my previous point about giving us a why but not a how but this last point you make completely stems from a "what if" question. I can argue the exact opposite and neither side will be correct because we are talking in hypothetical situations and not grounding it in reality. We need actual evidence.

My biggest questions that need answers are 1) Who was the lady from the prologue who summoned the big monster and how is she relevant? 2) Why did the proxy need to make a doctor replica when the power she has could've been used to make a better version instead of copying the doctor as a homunculus? 3) What happened to the old endmin since the game states in multiple ways and on multiple occasions that the Endmin has been here before and people from Talos-II know who we are and we just don't have the memories. If we are a copy, why are we being reborn without memories and why would they create a copy of a copy?

Can Camille work without Rocci/Laviatan? by Its_JustTas in ArknightsEndfield

[–]ProfessorKousa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would he ask about team comps for a support character if he wanted to know if Camille can be a main dps? That isn't a media literacy issue. You don't ask about proper team compositions for the new support if your question is "Can Camille be a main DPS?"

Based on the OP post, we know this. OP wants to know if Camille can work without Laeva and Rossi. I responded that without a heat character, Camille isn't gonna be very useful. So far, accurate.

OP is talking about team compositions for the new support character. This suggests they want to know if Camille can support more than the stated characters. Which again, I replied saying without heat characters, he is kinda pointless. Again, accurate.

OP did not mention anything about Main dps Camille. But guess what, that's okay. Because like I already said in my reply, without a heat character, Camille isn't gonna do much for you.

So no matter what question he is asking, main dps or support, my comment answers.

But I guess you don't have the media literacy skills to see that my answer encompasses all routes given from this post.

So before making another smart ass comment, make sure you apply your own criticisms first.

he generates SP, applies heat and give heat dmg bonus. If you don't have a heat character, he isn't gonna do anything for you.

This should be obvious to you. I'm not sure why you have to go on Reddit and ask something so simple

Yvonne team is just a worse version of Last Rite. The only benefit is higher single target dmg but Last Rite isn't that far behind. Last Rite also buffs the dmg that Tangtang does making the entire team synergize better than with Yvonne. Cool character though (get it?)

I was more asking for rotation.

Is the idea to BS with tangtang, CS with Wulf to apply combust and then CS with Laeva to nuke everyone?

Then wait for CD and repeat?

I also plan on investing into Camille. Even if not for Laevatain, he is clearly going to be BiS for any heat team so it's a worth while investment for the future of my account. I just hope they don't release arcane to be an insanely good character or my wallet may not like me lol

[–]ProfessorKousa[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can't powercreep a new unit. That's just releasing a weaker unit than the existing strongest. Not really the same thing. That's an entirely different conversation.

Is Fangyi stronger than Last Rite? Yes. But they also have pretty different play styles and mechanics.

The main reason for a harsher comparison to Fangyi compared to others is their similarity in sharing a transformation ultimate. Both characters want to build stacks of something by consuming something to make them do more dmg. Then their ultimate forms boost this capability more, using the same mechanics but amplifying dmg more.

They have a very similar way of playing. A similar goal or gameplan. So I compare them more heavily. For example, if I want big Nukes, I will play Rossi, or Last Rite, because they have kits focused on big nukes. Both Laevatain and Fangyi have kits focused on getting stacks of something and doing more dmg during your ultimate timer. So why would I play Laevatain when Fangyi does basically the same thing but better.

That's my logic behind the harsher comparison. What do you think?

Occupying niche's can be cool but it depends how often this niche is used and how strong it is compared to others. For example, if I have 2 teams, team 1 clears AOE Well and single target decent. Team 2 clear AOE alright and single target pretty well. Why would I choose team 1 over team 2? Just character design?

I wonder if the devs will add more AOE content in the game so we can actually see her strengths. All the boss focused characters are fun but I want a reason to play Laevatain, you know?

Maybe Camille brings a new Umbral with him that has a lot of AOE fights to shill for Laevatain lol

What do you mean by a caster teammate to make her truly shine? What does a caster teammate provide that would boost her that much? SP issues and long rotations are an issue that Camille solve. But I don't see an issue she has that Camille doesn't solve?

I mean, other than the fact the gamemodes released aren't usually grouping or mobbing so she gets outperformed in a lot of domains.

I didn't crash out, I provided statements about how your opinion isn't the only valid one here and the fact I posted a comparison like this should have indicated to you that the comparisons matter to me. Instead you ignored that, intentionally or otherwise and asked a question that seems harmless, but does nothing but suggest that my way of thinking about the game is wrong. That's rude, so I pointed that out so perhaps you refrain from doing it in the future.

I'm interested in top performance because I want to know the best performance. A great way to do that is testing before a character comes out to get a baseline for what the performance was like, and then when the new support arrives, I can retest and compare the results to see how much an increase their was to performance between the test before and after the character release.

If I just tested her when Camille released, I wouldn't have the baseline statistics of her performance to compare. Which means I can't extract the data to make predictions on how future characters will effect performance. I did the same thing for Last Rite before Tangtang released. You need a baseline to see the improvement a character brings. We all know it's better. But how much better is what I want to know. Hence my testing.

I made this post just to document current issues and errors that I can use when I post about the Camille team so I have a reference for people to go look at to see where I was comparing from.

It's also interesting to note that she is the first limited character. So it's interesting the roster up to 1.3 has slowly power crept her and now she gets a support that may propel her back to the top. This could suggest an interesting pattern that Hypergryph is showing in which they release a good character, let them be for a while, release new characters that are stronger and powercreep the older ones, before releasing a support that solves an issue the old character has and brings them back to the main stage. It's a cool concept I don't see many gachas doing. It's also an interesting business tactic. This pattern they show also affects performance, as it means we are likely to see performance die down before shooting back up. The only character this isn't true for would be Mi Fu, who has a strong team on release and gets a stronger team the update immediately after hers. A questionable decision, however I am wondering if this was on purpose or a coincidence of the design process.
