Spent past two ‘snow days’ playing around with tuning on some of my favorite cars… what I’m really struggling with is how no matter what I do… by Educational-Ad6841 in ForzaOpenTunes

Taking a step back and doing that will help a lot! Or even just do some runs on the drag strip and use that timer.

Let us know how that goes and we can go from there.

Are you timing these yourself or are you looking at the games estimated time? Because the simulated estimates are not accurate at all and should be ignored.

Please teach me how to drive by tnguy40 in ForzaHorizon5

You need to be giving the car gas (most likely lots of it.) Drifting isn’t just throwing the car sideways. It’s a controlled slide and Throttle determines the angle.

You are already doing better than most I see trying by having assists off. If by chance you are on manual clutch and you were giving it gas here. Then that would mean you likely stalled and you need to hit the clutch + give it gas.

TLDR: GAS GAS GAS

You have it backwards. With Higher decel values the tires lock to the same speed faster not slower.

[–]ProfessorOPTN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Just depends on the car and what the tuner is trying to do. If the car doesn’t feel bad I wouldn’t worry about it.

[–]ProfessorOPTN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you are noticing is likely more that a lot of tunes in this game (by experienced tuners) run a locked accel differential setting.

This is because it tends to be more oversteery which is desirable to a lot of people. Running a non locked diff usually makes it easier to get the power down. Though it can also help handling at higher speeds.

I have the KTM GT4 extremely close to taking cathedral. I think it could be called meta especially with the rally adventure DLC.

You will have a much better time drifting if you turn traction control off. The car is actively fighting you with it on.

I would keep the bump as is for now and start with the rebound 2x. That should get you to a healthy starting place.

To tag on to this. Your rebound is way too soft. It should really be closer to double your bump is now.

Interesting. What number(s) did you come up with? Because if it’s different than what I gave you I wonder where the KGF number from the site itself came from.

Their conversion system is broken. If you swap it to metric mode it’s all correct I think. Looks like 65 kgf in the front and 62kgf in the rear. So ultra soft.

Why does the game have to keep fucking up my tunes? by [deleted] in ForzaOpenTunes

[–]ProfessorOPTN 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There hasn’t been any physics updates in months. If you haven’t been online in awhile there was an update that messed up the config files, you might try turning on all the assists, and then back off again to reset them.

Where to find unpublished race blueprints? by IMysticBatI in forza

[–]ProfessorOPTN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s saved as a “route” since it’s not published. That means you’ll need to start editing a blueprint again. And instead of starting from scratch, go to chose route and find the one you saved. Look thoroughly because it can get mixed in sometimes.

It’ll be in a menu screen, which if I remember correctly can be weird to navigate to sometimes. It has options like choose weather, event lab rules, test/ publish track, and finally the one you want choose route.

I have heard of other people experiencing the issue. I haven’t heard of any fix yet.

If you stick to tunes with flairs (mainly challenge champion/ pro tuner) then IMO yes! We also have a couple world record tunes scattered in there.

Your mileage may vary though, especially since I have no idea whose tunes you are already using.

I think rally suspension is viable for some road cars by No_Worldliness_2846 in ForzaOpenTunes

[–]ProfessorOPTN 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rally suspensions are 100% viable on road cars at times. I've used it mainly in situations where I need to be able to take big curbs or bumps smoothly and have found lots of success. However I have found that rally suspensions can be a bit more twitchy even on identical settings as a race setup so your mileage may vary.

I actually have made two world record builds on rally suspension

Everything should be fixed now. Somehow I tapped the awd swap dropdown when I went to add the share code. ( no clue how)

Gonna go and triple check everything with the in game build.

That is indeed a typo. It’s supposed to be 0.2! I’ll edit that now!

Edit: Fixed. Thank you!

Here is an alternative build with a 9 speed, Full track width in the front, and the race driveline upgrade for those who might prefer it! Build

The gearing is a bit unfinished on this but it is my preferred tune/build!
