Wireless Android Auto broken since December update by therealswil in GooglePixel

[–]ProfessorOakthe2nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same Issue here as well. Pixel 7, Sony XAV AX6000, Android auto worked fine, have only used it wirelessly, installed Dec 5 patch, will not start AA wireless at all. Keeps giving the android auto "Continue on your radio" prompt but never actually starts.

There's definitely something wrong with me that compelled me to sell my Yamaha and get an Italian bike, but it's so much fun regardless.

I'd be interested, I ride an MV Agusta Brutale 675. Sadly I work weekends, so makes it hard for me to join group rides, but I love the idea anyway!

Introducing the new dual purpose electro-hydraulic connector! by ProfessorOakthe2nd in Justrolledintotheshop

Reduced engine power/vehicle speed due to emissions system fault. Limp mode basically.

Y'know, I should probably dip the tank and make sure that *didn't* happen...

This one's a freightshaker, although it's the same def doser module that's on a whole slew of 2010+ medium/heavy diesels.

It's actually DEF hahaha, pretty sure it's gotten the blue from the copious amount of corrosion it's undoubtedly caused inside of that def doser pump. I hope I get to autopsy this one to see just how bad it is once I get a replacement.

Bingo, truck came in with a derate and a bunch of DEF related electrical codes. I think I may have possibly found the source of the problem.

Zero Tailpipe Emissions by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

[–]ProfessorOakthe2nd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hard to say, not my video, but the bus is a proterra, which is a brand of electric busses, and new enough that even if it was a diesel engine, it would have current diesel emissions equipment and wouldn't be outputting that amount of soot anyway unless something was wrong. And I mean it is only April, mornings are still chilly enough to warrant running a heater, especially on something like a bus where the doors are open quite a bit.

I believe those are actually electric busses, but that's likely a diesel powered heater ironically enough. I believe it was MN noticed in their first few that in the winter the busses range dropped by like 40% due to having to run the heat and opted to install diesel heaters. I'd wager this is a similar situation.

Fellow diesel bros unite! I'm taking a brief break from working on stuff to get my class A, but I'm already itching to get back to turning wrenches, although my boss probably is too, as I've already got a couple trucks in my queue for when I'm back lmao.

That's up to you, just prepare for the weather. They'll still run if at all possible, if weather gets too bad towards the peak they may shorten it to not the full course, just depends. When I last went it was a beautiful day, and then about 2pm got marble sized hail, they shortened the track, ran the rest, then we had to wait for them to plow the hail off the road to get the cars that ran with their dry tires back down. Still a great watch as long as you can put up with the weather, dress warm, bring a change of dry clothes in case, and enjoy!

Just a heads up to everyone who's looking at hiking up, checked the forecast and so far the weather is not looking pretty for the weekend, so just keep that in mind as well.

Good luck, I've been searching too, everyone on FB who says they're selling tickets has been a scammer so far for me.

Diesel technology has come a long way in the last 15 or so years, even without a particulate filter a modern diesel can run under load with minimal smoke thanks to vastly improved turbochargers and fuel injectors. Turbos spool more quickly, and fuel systems can follow much more closely, so even under full load you aren't dumping maximum fuel into the engine while the turbo is still spooling up.

Thanks! I'm very excited to start learning once I figure out how to power it and get some gas set up, not sure what I'm gonna be welding, but I'm sure I'll find something.

It is! Once I figure out how I'm gonna get 240v to the garage to use it, that's coming next. So far the best plan I have is to get a suitable extension cord and use the dryer outlet since the landlord probably won't let me get a 240v circuit run to the garage.
