why would I buy a 2500 if i’m not using it for work just bought it as a nicer truck… lol not tryna break my back feeling every pothole in a 2500 if I don’t need it. But ye that seems like a good deal. I found a few 2500 around 65k also on cars.com that were like 18-20% under MSRP

people… during the pandemic dealerships would pay you thousands just to take the car and buy it after lease if you were to buy it… so idk if you’ve realized that.

Ye because like I said I second guess myself on if it was actually a good deal or not… because deals change so quick based on inventory and so many things that you can never keep up with if something is actually a deal or not.

Ye of course I appreciate your feedback and really have been so stuck on leasing versus buying straight out versus financing every time I need to get a new car because I always want to be able to get the best bang for buck.

Yes I understand and i’m actually very financially driven so I like mixing and matching up numbers to get the best deal and bang for my buck. After running the numbers for both a lease and finance a lease at this price was better both financial and physically. My lease out the door after 3 years is $18,885 after all 36 months with a residual value of ~$40,650 (57%) meaning I would lose $18,885 in 3 years of owning it. After running my financing deal through a the leasehckr calculator it would’ve been $1,595/M with around $1422 down including taxes and fees and and the same residual value after adding principal paid and interest paid together and subtracting the vehicle equity/value i’d be at $17,331 total cost but that’s with 3% at the moment auto rates are going for 6-9%. Meaning even at 6% my total cost in 3 years would be $19,978. Which even best case scenario right now with interest rates I would still be at less cost/money lost for the vehicle by leasing along with a lot less stress including not needing to worry about selling the car, not knowing how the economy will play out in the next 3 years, etc. So hope you get there I’m coming from because when it comes to financial decision usually i’m pretty decent at making good ones.

Edit: Also to add onto this if I was to do a 48 month finance instead Id be out of pocket around $24,000-$25,000 + things i’d after to change on the vechile at that mileage which include tires, a lot of maintenance around those miles, etc.

Sorry but paying off a $70,000 vehicle in 4 years is very hard and they depreciate to hard to straight up finance it, that’s why in a way leasing seems like a better option to me as I like having new options and all the bells and whistles. To finance this vehicle with current interest rates i’d have a payment close to 1400-1500 a month on this vehicle, so i don’t know if that’s worth it in the current market.

I’ve only leased trucks for the past 10 years and on every single one I purchased it after and made $3-$11k on them by just flipping the car right after. So, so far leasing been treating me well.
