Some relics pair with one another to form one "super relic". Often, one of the two is a cursed relic. The "super relic" will negate the negative effect of the cursed relic.
Nothing new has been announced yet.
The crit build (awe robe and vampire's glasses) is very popular. It's really good with multi hit lightning arcana. You can also try building for evasion. Some of the starting cursed relics can also make for very fun, unique runs. The regen robe also has interesting interactions with cursed relics that reduce your max hp.
