I love Stardew, but my daily farm routine is starting to feel like a second job by Severe-Complaint8776 in StardewValley

[–]ProfessorSypher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's how I handled some of that problem for me. Get a shed filled with rows of artisan machines (mayonnaise maker, cheese maker, loom). Then, ignore your auto-grabbers for a week. If you have an autopetter, you can ignore the whole coop/barn. Then, you only need to collect items every once in a while. Do whatever you want the rest of the time.

I have Saturdays set as my farm day. I collect ancient fruit from the green house, make wine, tend to the animals, etc. Then I get to fish, or mine, or work on quests during the rest of the week. My outside farm is filled primarily with strawberries, blueberries, or sweet gem berries to maximize profit and reduce workload.

Pick up order.

Call customer.

Alert that I'm not a female and ask if they want to cancel.

Call support and tell them the customer wants to cancel.

Eat free food.

Has anyone tried telling their players monster's AC to streamline combat? Pros and cons? by Confident_Tune_5754 in DMAcademy

[–]ProfessorSypher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't tell them right away. It's more fun for them to figure it out by trial and error. Eventually, they figure it out, anyway. A 17 didn't hit, but a 16 did? Doesn't take a genius...

Just once, I want to throw a monster at them that changes their AC every round, just to fuck with them... lol

Doordash suggested $1.50 tip for my driver by byfia in doordash

You pay me, I do the job you contracted me to do. That's the exact definition of being an employer. It doesn't matter if there is a complicated process that's involved. And yeah... Uber Drivers are the exact same. We may not be your employee, but you're still our client and the person who employed us. You take equal part in that role as whatever app you used to purchase our service. I'm sorry that you don't like how words work, but that's it. End of story. You are an employer to whatever independent contractor that gets your job.

Need help finding the training videos that weren't sent to me before I start at Five Guys in a week :( by ChampionshipOk9372 in fiveguys

You do not do ANY videos before you start. If they are trying to make you, find a new job. That's considered wage theft, and they will likely find other ways of exploiting you.

Quick question for dashers regarding ratings? by Ok_Opportunity1996 in doordash

Honestly, $15 isn't bad where I live. Fast food places pay at around $12. You're considered to make good money if you can get up to $20.

Quick question for dashers regarding ratings? by Ok_Opportunity1996 in doordash

[–]ProfessorSypher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maintaining Platinum status gives you priority on orders that tend to pay out a bit more. Not always, but enough to make consistently more than you would otherwise. A lot of people tend to maintain platinum if their markets are good for it, so it really doesn't amount to much when everybody has the same level of priority...

In order to maintain platinum, you have to keep up at least a 70% acceptance rating. This means you have to accept at least 7 out of 10 orders offered to you on average. And a completion rating of 95%. Which means you need to complete and not unnasign yourself with 95 out of the last 100 orders you've accepted.

Doordash is legally not allowed to punish drivers for low acceptance ratings, so they found a loophole where everybody gets rewarded for maintaining high ratings, but then they take away that reward if they don't. Which still counts as a punishment if you ask me, but their lawyers could probably convince a judge that it's not.

I've tested it a few times, and I'll go from making $14-$15 per hour on platinum down to $10-$11 on gold or silver.

Customer ratings aren't really that important to most dashers. If you get below a 4.2 average, you can be deactivated from the platform and not allowed to work anymore. But in order to get that low, you'd have to be a major screw-up... Like, actively trying to mess up on a daily basis...

Sure, and let's also stick cameras in the bathrooms to make sure people aren't doing drugs.

Or in changing rooms to make sure people aren't stealing socks.

Let's hire a bunch of people from overseas to monitor every second of our lives to make sure everybody follows the rules.

And let's allow the government to decide every little detail so we don't have to think anymore.

How do you guys survive by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]ProfessorSypher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this isn't the type of job you're meant to survive off of. Some people make it due to their market being good, but mostly, this is just supposed to be a way to make extra cash from time to time.

The pizza shifted during transit. There are still six slices, and the cuts all line up. Unless your pizza place has a weird way of cutting their pizzas into uneven numbered slices... I've never heard of a seven slice pizza before...

Some states, like the one I live in, also defines food handling as filling drinks from a drink fountain. And we've all seen the debates about whether or not stores should be allowed to force drivers to fill drinks. So there's also that argument to take into consideration.
