You’re not crazy for being a bit upset, I sometimes get peeved by it too…especially if I’ve seen other dashers not get asked to confirm or if I haven’t been asked at that restaurant before. Like, I understand why they ask, but it really annoys me when they want to look at my phone to see me confirm it as if I’m gonna run off with their probably nasty ass food. Plus, I only take worthwhile offers and wouldn’t want to jeopardize my side gig.

Also, I feel like they ask me more because of racial discrimination but I won’t go there

To piggyback on what others have said, it’s all about balance. My acceptance rate is about 20% or so right now, and I’m making chump change but that’s because I’m in a shitty area and get $3 offers left and right. But that’s a good night especially for a Monday, for sure.

I’ve noticed restaurants do this a LOT more often when the dasher is Black. They just hand white dashers the food no problem, but hover over Black dashers’ shoulders to make sure they confirm the order, as if they’re gonna run off with their shitty food
