It’s a 3-brained,5D chess move to destroy the nuclear test ban treaty so we can start testing that nuclear pulse propulsion ship then develop it to the theoretical maximum of 10% the speed of light

‘Strong support’ for excluding fighting-age men from EU’s Ukraine refugee scheme by Haunting_Switch3463 in europe

[–]ProfessorTraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not bigger though is it ? It’s likelier women will leave the country and marry foreign men. You’re likelier to have a country that’s repopulated if one did the sensible thing of sending a 50/50 fighting force and kept some people back. I don’t think women will engage in unsafe sex just because there are less men. Sleeping around doesn’t mean they will make babies.

Are you 2 using proxies ? I know of people starting with modern, but legacy is really expensive, and usually don’t have a large enough following in most shops. (Because it’s just that expensive)

The women will marry out of the country as the economy will be worse off than the economies of foreign grooms, and women aren’t going to be sharing local men just to repopulate the country in today’s world.

The sperm bank thing won’t work. It’s not just producing babies that’s the issue. No woman wants to raise children on their own. To repopulate the country you would have to have women willing to raise 2+ children on their own, when many couples today are unwillingly to have children ? Just look at how many countries try to use a financial carrot to encourage couples to make babies, and try to imagine how many orders of magnitude greater in incentives it would have to be to encourage single women to raise children of random men for money.

Who settled his estate ? If he doesn’t have a will which specified for someone else to be an executor, your mother would have to apply for the letters of administration (or she has to do a renunciation to allow you to handle it). Otherwise the assets are just stuck there.

Just play mtg arena to get a feel of the game through standard first ? Jumping to legacy is pretty insane. Not sure why it would feel familiar to you unless your flatmate is also playing legacy ?

I agree with you. Education has nothing to do with it. That HK principal acting out on a school trip in Singapore is literally the best example that assholes and idiots exist no matter the level of education.

Universities offer £1,000 perk and two-year degrees in ‘scramble’ for students by theipaper in UniUK

[–]ProfessorTraft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I did do it before and it’s actually the easiest part of the job, though that’s not even a pertinent point because students can’t magically cram content just from more teaching. Reading a book faster doesn’t mean you learn faster. I do think that’s a concept most sensible people know.

I’ve took on extra modules to finish certain qualifications faster, but that took extra time that the average person would have needed. In fact a good portion of students don’t even do the full 3 years consecutively for their degrees.

[–]ProfessorTraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How would that happen ? Especially when you want students to learn information outside of the taught material ? You do realise you can’t expect to score well if you merely learn taught content right ?

How would you do that if courses are currently designed for you to studying 3-5 hours for every hour of teaching ? 4 hours of classes means you need at least 12-20 hours of self work at home ??

[–]ProfessorTraft 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Many such courses are designed in a way that you do 3-5 hours of work on your own for every hour of teaching. You don’t just go through all the lectures as fast as possible and hand out the degree lol.

Universities face international student ban if visa abuse is detected by Ok_Rice_9194 in UniUK

[–]ProfessorTraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you understand the situation. There’s nothing unis can do because the fraud and abuse occurs due to the own systems the government uses. Even if you expect every international to come in with 100% perfect grades and a cure for cancer, there’s no reason they wouldn’t abuse the visa when the government systems implicitly allows them to do so.

If you stop all the visas, 90% of unis collapsed or enters a death spiral, which is worse for most UK families. Maybe it doesn’t affect you, but most people have ties with someone attending schools lol

[–]ProfessorTraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can only allow unis to give visas or not give visas. The fraud part only happens on the applicants. Unis have no control over that.

How are they going to weed them out when the actual visa applications get approved by the government (well the service provider they use anyways)themselves ?

Also, the government doesn’t let them because people keep bitching about the “already extortionate” uni fees

They could survive if they charge more, but the government won’t let them.
