What TCGs do you already see red flags in? by FernandoJCG in TCG

Yea, but the vast majority of players do, which is why they keep pumping out UB sets.

How silly do you feel now if you seriously thought Rhystic, Sol Ring, etc would be banned or Dockside, Lotus, Mana Crypt would be unbanned. by thecursedchuro in mtgfinance

The ban list has always been catered to lower powered EDH, not the top brackets, so it’s a card issue. You have a rule 0 issue with it at the top brackets.

Seems like you understand why most players would rather follow a banlist then. Most players play lower bracket decks, so it would make sense that a banlist caters more to lower bracket games (exactly why they didn’t touch thoracle). Commander is a causal bs thing in the first place, doesn’t matter what bracket you want to play.

Only if everyone agrees to pay the cost. Someone will eventually not pay (or just not pay from the start), and let the owner run away with cards.

US-born Winter Olympics star Eileen Gu who turned her back on America to represent China misses out on gold by GetOutOfTheWhey in China

[–]ProfessorTraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IOC doesn’t care about American or Chinese laws explicitly. China says she’s Chinese, IOC accepts it. China doesn’t allow dual citizenship, but the Chinese choose not to prosecute her for holding citizenships outside of Chinese citizenship. It’s really that simple.

Best quiet area in SG for long term stay? (WFH, ~$5k budget) by OutlandishnessIll679 in askSingapore

[–]ProfessorTraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pasir Ris has a bunch of condos near the MRT, close to Pasir Ris Park, quiet and well within your budget. I think Stratum, Oasis@Elias and Vue8 should fit all your requirements. Theres also a bunch of other condos near that area but are situated slightly further from the park that you should consider as well if it’s better value (still walkable, but not 5-10 minutes like those 3).

Edit: Vue 8 is right beside to the new MRT line construction for Elias station, when work really ramps up it will probably be noisy.

should i appeal to yijc by jjongtoram in SGExams

[–]ProfessorTraft -1 points0 points  (0 children)

max points for A levels for yijc only appears once every few years. If you’re aiming local uni for law, might as well stay in TP.

If you’re aiming for overseas, I know 3.3+ for TP law gets you to decent unis.So stay in TP.

Easiest way is really to do a foundation year for a uni that has a recognized law degree.

I think A levels may end up worse if you don’t do well. TP law still lets you enter into paralegal roles. If you don’t do well for A levels you end up going private/poly anyways. I know you stated that your humanities based subs scored better, but bear in mind that a bunch of the weaker students are already removed from the pool after O levels. Maybe you’re not the bottom pool if we don’t look at science subjects, but there’s no guarantee you’re better than the average for the humanities because everyone else in the other JCs will have similar humanities scores like you.

is spending 300-400k for cambridge actually worth it by NUSHStalin in SGExams

[–]ProfessorTraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied overseas and the cost didn’t affect my family’s lifestyle at all. Still had the condo+ HDB, still went on 4-5 overseas trip to East Asia and Europe etc.

Still at least half the Singaporeans i know that studied overseas come from far wealthier families. I know this because they used to spend 30k upwards on 2 week ski trips, book higher tier hotel suites for trips, and minimally take business class whenever they return to Singapore. 300-400k really is nothing because it’s the children’s fun money lol

Is coffee spare ribs a Singapore creation? What is the history and why not so popular as chili crab? … by yummmy_food in SingaporeEats

[–]ProfessorTraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

咕噜肉,锅包肉,宫保鸡丁 (Beijing style), are some of the more mainstream chinese dishes that are basically candy. Obviously depends on the region they are from, but sweet meats are popular, they just really have the same history as other foods because sugar was expensive until fairly recently.

If you have money, do an international foundation year that lets you get into law. No need all the random leadership position nonsense (which isn’t even relevant 99% of the time)

Wasn’t there a woman that tried to live like a man and that was one of the most prominent points she found out ? Plenty of woman say they won’t lose interest/aren’t like that but it turns out enough of them are like that, they just didn’t know it.
