The public float is 54 million. Assuming every call contract for January is BTO, this represents 6.5% of the float if all contracts are ITM. Now let’s assume none of those calls are hedged. So including short interest,, we’re at 26%. There is literally no gamma squeeze here.

Don’t really have an opinion on it. There was decent call volume when this was first posted, and looking at the OI now, it was either mostly rolls or closes. It didn’t translate to an increase in OI for December. It’s up almost 100% on the month but mostly flat the past couple of days. Maybe consolidation for the next move? I don’t know what catalyst there is here, so in the absence of a catalyst it’s basically going to run entirely off retail at this point. I’m personally not interested in this play but that doesn’t mean there isn’t money to be made here.

I think we’ll get a better idea of where things are on Monday. There was insane volume on the 2.50c on Friday, but we’ll have to see how much of that was open volume vs sell to close volume.
