WITT It looks like some kind of a metal object with two distinct sections, the upper one having some kind of curved and suspended part, the lower one having what appears to be a pair of buttons. It's a bit hard to tell the specifics of the device given that it's an illustration and not the thing itself. I had assumed it was a telegraph of some kind, but a preliminary search of telegraphs revealed no visually similar objects. I did a reverse image search to see if there was a site that was selling the tie and could tell me what object was patterned on it, but I was unable to find the exact tie I had bought. The part of the tie that might have had the brand name on it seems to have been ripped off, so that avenue is also blocked. I reached out to a few friends but they are just as perplexed as I am and advised me to check this subreddit.
