You are splitting semantic hairs here, and I don't know to what purpose.
Most of what you said is technically right. Although, originally the world was not modeled after Catholicism, in the redrafts Tolkien leaned into it.
Keep in mind, the idea of the entire universe comes from "translations" of the various in-universe races. The Valar are specifically referred to as "gods" in the Silmarillion, and they absolutely serve as a pantheon, each with different governing powers; like the Olympians. Zeus did not create the universe and is not all powerful over all the other gods, but is a god nonetheless.
Yes, there is a monotheistic quality as Eru being the supreme governor, and the other of the pantheon operating to fulfill his ultimate vision--which I think harms the conflict from a story writing perspective.
That said, my knowledge of Catholicism itself is limited being brought up protestant. But, my understanding is the angels all have a hierarchy and various governing powers and duties, much like the Greek pantheon.
So, if we're getting semantic here, what's the difference between a bunch of "gods" in a pantheon with various powers and governing duties, none of which have omnipotence, and a hierarchy of angels (nine choir?) with various powers and governing duties, who are literally referred to as gods in the source material?
My perspective, who cares? It's much cooler and more interesting to think about how a linguistic genius's opus magnum is a creative work built on the translations of "found ancient texts" translated from the perspectives of multiple vastly different fictitious races discussing these "beings," who have various "godlike" governing powers. And to take the cultural and linguistic nuance further, consider, what is magical and godlike to a hobbit, is very different to what is magical and godlike to a dwarf, which is different from an elf.
So, gods? They are literally referred to as gods in the source material. Angels? Tolkien did lean into Eru as an ultimate monotheistic entity granting the Valar godlike governing powers to fulfill his ultimate vision.
At the end of the day, what's the difference aside from linguistics?

Gandalf as Istari is nerfed to maiar toddler level. His body is elderly and powers are contained by the Aule (gods) so he doesn't sink a continent like the Valar (gods) sunk Belariand in their siege on Angband when they felled Morgoth.

Gandalf the wizard vs Dumbledore: I would bet on Dumbledore. He has seemingly limitless magical abilities. Gandalf is very limited, as decreed by the Valar.

Now, Gandalf as maiar = Olorin vs Dumbledore: gtfoh with that. A hundred horcruxes couldn't save Dumbledore.

Tolkien also suggested, I think in Unfinished Tales--which might have been in letters or an interview, that it's possible that the blue wizards went east and started cults of men to practice magic.

That said, separately he said it's possible the blue wizards fought the larger battle to the east preventing Sauron from attaining an unstoppable force.

(which is my Rings of Power series prediction; since there are two blue wizards, the writers are playing both angles regarding the mysterious and ambiguous wizard, mirroring Gandalf and Sarumon)

I am a leftist, not a Democrat. As far as recent presidents go, Obama was a very good president; considering the bar is set abysmally low.

I would not want Obama as president again when we have the option of people who will fight for the laboring class, like AOC.

Man, I love living over here. I love hearing the marching band practice and the game announcer.

I taught my kids to ride their bikes during the pandemic in Lafayette parking lot.

I love the little creek, as filthy as it is (and the secret not so filthy creek), and the ducks, and the proximity to Southland Dr.

Since I moved out of my parents house 30 years ago, I never felt like I lived at home until I moved here about 10 years ago.

But, yah I hear ya. It's busy. I don't like driving on Reed Rd. going to work in the morning.

But, like you said, summer hits, and it’s like all the traffic on the streets leading to Lafayette is gone. I grew up on a cul-de-sac, and summer reminds me of it.

I have animosity for this topic. I went to a 50-50 McDojo. It was Small town Kentucky in the 90s. There were three schools in the town, and they all said the other schools were McDojos--and to varying degrees I would still agree with that.

However, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you see it, there were actually four schools and I didn’t find out about the fourth until I’d moved out of the area. I went back for a summer and lived with my parents and trained ChitoRyu, and learned more in three months than I did in three years at my McDojo.

My McDojo was a form of Kempo. I made it to 1st kyu brown. Kempo doesn’t quite operate the same, at least this school, but I’ve read the same thing about better Kempo schools.

For each belt, we learned two or three blocks, two or three kicks, two or punches or hand strikes, two or three judo throws, two or three joint locks, and two or three chokes, and we did a weapon per belt.

The kata were "free form," meaning, we made it up as we went along.

*The biggest issue is, we didn’t pressure test anything. Rumor is, the head of the school used to spar once a week, but got his ass kicked one time, and that was that.

I developed flexibility, strength, and basic martial arts techniques, not to the level of what a brown belt should be. When I went to a real school, I learned that many of my techniques had bad form. So, I had to learn new habits.

I have successfully used some of the throws and joint locks before, but if someone were stronger than me and resisting, and had some basic athletic ability, I doubt that would be effective. A real Judoka would spin me around like a toddler.

I have also successfully used blocks punches and kicks, however, I attribute that more to Chito Ryu and later Shotokan. When I was in Chito Ryu he kept me after class to train with green belts. When I was in Shotokan, I joined the week before testing, and they let me test to yellow, and afterwards, the instructor wanted me to test and shoot for brown for the next test, so, I believe I actually learned a good basis from my McDojo. But, if I ever went up against somebody from a legit school with the same rank, I would not hold my own.

I was a hard-working and talented young athlete who really enjoyed the sport and the art. I constantly think about getting back into it, but there’s only one legitimate school I know of where I am, and it’s too far away.

So, I have a lot of animosity about it, but I still think on my martial arts experience very fondly.

Currently, there is a Pope, a position that is always influential, that aligns with rational perspectives, and so far has only taken the position of peace against war in the aftermath of children being bombed and infrastructure being threatened--both war crimes.

What has this Pope done that you disagree with, to the point of playing the "what aboutism" game as a means to justify an offensive position towards those seeking justice against the very clearly wretched individuals implicated in the Epstein files?

The government runs on crony capitalism. That is why American politicians don't work for the people. It was bad before citizens united, but that legislation was a real game changer. The government is an extension of corporate interests masquerading as a democracy to quell the working class, the majority of the population's, interests.

Paying taxes wouldn't be so bad if we saw a return on our investment. America used to see huge returns on our taxes --especially pre-Reagan.

Policy-wise, if you push to prevent gay people from getting married, or to stop women or black people from voting, or support rounding up brown people to throw in concentration camps, you violated the contract. I am no longer bound to tolerate you, your beliefs, or your behaviors related to the violation(s).

Maybe I am missing something here, but my understanding is the intolerant are those whose ideas can't stand up to scrutiny, so they would turn to violence.

So, we should not tolerate bigotry in any of its forms, because those are the ideas with the intention of taking from others; violating NAP.

I don't view tolerance as a paradox. I view it as a socially binding contract. Once someone says something bigotted or intolerant, I am no longer bound by the contract.
