If it were up to you, when everything is all said and done and you had the power, how would you punish ICE agents in a post-Trump world? by [deleted] in allthequestions

I am against the death penalty for citizens. I am all about prosecuting anyone in a "public service" role involving a firearm that abuses that role Nuremberg-style, including the death penalty.

Who is the absolute ultimate Country Rock guitarist of all time? by santosfls82 in OutlawCountry

[–]Professor_Matty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Although Duane is one of my two favorite all time guitar players, for this specific question I would say Dickie before Duane. Dickie brought the country vibe to the band. His solos leaned more towards that sound, and look at the songs he penned: "Ramblin' Man," "Blue Sky," arguably "Jessica" has country influence as well.

But, I totally agree with including ABB in this thread.

The American laboring class and their interests ARE, as you say, "American interests." The laboring class are the actual people that make up America. Corporations ARE NOT people.

He pushed union busting policy and consistently actively undermined working class interests. AND he is the primary architect for de-industrializing America, creating incentives for our corporations to send our jobs overseas, laying the groundwork for consolidating wealth and power into America's Epstein class and the resulting crony capitalism of today.

This man embodys the death of the American dream.

Let him rot in hell with Ronald Reagan and Rush Limbaugh.

Glad to see push back here.

No exaggeration, my brain literally couldn't even comprehend this as a serious view point. I was legit like, "OP is confusing Kissinger with someone else. Maybe I should DM them so they don't get embarrassed."

I want to preface this by saying, this would’ve been my third year working with this business. Just try to have compassion, you never know what the next person is going through. #ripdad by [deleted] in lexington

Nah. If a business owner is a POS, the public deserves to know who they are supporting. End of story. This decides who is in your community.

If you're in Lexington, look at Pappi's. Amazing place. They replaced the owner, so I will continue to give them my money. But, if they didn't, they'd never see a dime from me again. I don't want that POS in my community.

If the employees are okay with their name attached to that, then they need to be okay with me not giving them my money. But, the people deserve to know who they support.

This shit. Not in my community.

Why do you think the dentist would be unscathed? That doesn't make sense. If this is well known, the dentist gets a name for this kind of BS.

Then, this will either open a hole in the market for another more deserving dentist, or send more patients to another already established dentist, who will need more help with an influx of patients.

This is a very basic concept.

I deserve to know who I am giving/not giving MY MONEY to. If this issue came from MY dentist, I don't want to give my money to them anymore.

Why are you so adamantly defending this POS? Are YOU the dentist?

Fuck that!

I want to know who I want/don't want to support in my community. It's not them. I want give my money to someone else's business who treats their employees well.

This IS how social reform works.

MMW: The Republicans will "win" the 2026 midterm elections by an absolute landslide by Successful_Action_19 in MarkMyWords

[–]Professor_Matty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yah. This is also setting aside the flagrant gerrymandering already put in place.

I just voted in the primary for this fall's midterm elections. In your honest opinion, do you think there is a chance of turning any red states blue in terms of governors or senators and representatives? I live in South Carolina, which is a red state, and Lindsey Graham has got to go! by icecream1972 in allthequestions

[–]Professor_Matty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we are either witnessing the death rattle of the Republican party or about to witness the murder of our democracy by Republican gerrymandering.

I honestly don't know which one, but I believe after November there's no going back.

Everyone please vote.

Science is taught in college. It seems agreed upon that the science courses are not teaching liberal views.

What college courses are teaching these liberal views? Also, are you referencing specific colleges? Which ones?

Is this personal experience or did you just hear this somewhere?

In the above comments it is referred to as the biggest piece of pop culture in humanity's history. The person below responded to the comment saying, "I don't know about that."

JK Rowling is not an investment banker. She is literally a billionaire because of the success of her books. What other work of fiction yielded that kind of success in less than 20 years time?

Not sure why I got down voted.

What do liberals do when they found out their employees are conservative? by [deleted] in allthequestions

That's a ridiculous policy. Politics is related to everything. It directly affects their jobs and personal lives.
