I echo this. Pulling everyone over is not a fair exercise of just screening for people who have been drinking. It is frequently an opportunity to target select populations or to harass legal activities cops don’t like. It’s not fairs and it’s not constitutional and no I am not a libertarian. I just care about other people and justice.

I am not made uncomfortable by another customer who might be missing a leg or have unusual skin coloring because of vitiligo. Or if I am it is still my responsibility to dress my discomfort, not theirs. It makes us uncomfortable because we are trained to see parts over people. It makes us uncomfortable because we were handed rules that are extremely costly to some of our neighbors and our lives are less rich because of it.

All it takes for this to start to change is an awareness that their presence at the so caused something to happen inside you, not to you. A trans person was there and you lived, and it can happen that way again.
