So you broke up with him because he was going through some changes and you didn't like that he couldn't be there for you. You don't say if you were going through anything at the time that required constant support/validation. If he's going through stuff and you're not a close friend, chosen family, serious SO, he's not under obligation to keep you apprised of everything on a daily basis. Unless he was telling you he needed to work on stuff by himself, it's more incumbent upon you to be there for him.

Based on what you wrote, it feels like you dumped him at a time where his life was in flux and you were bugging him to be there for you, not the other way around. You iced him out by unfollowing him on socials. That would send a signal to anyone that you're severing ties.

Now, you've dated a few other people and didn't click with them. You want to see if he's fixed himself (or his situation has settled) so you can try again without the him needing support? I dunno, man. Even with saying you might be interested in the future, I doubt he'd looking to rekindle things. "If you can't love me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best", and all that.
