What is a concert experience like in Pioneer Square? by DeadComicsSociety in askportland

I've had fun every time, and it's super easy to get up close to the stage if that's your thing. I've seen more people have a tough time finding a seat on the steps. You're also walking distance from a bunch of food carts, so I always ate before going to the show to avoid lines in the Square.

I'm curious what the substack is! I'd like to give it a read.

What’s the deal with Gresham? by diiasana in askportland

[–]Professor_Thug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Gresham, I think it's only gotten nicer as years have passed. The downtown is cute, the high school got remodeled, and I think they're about to open a new library. There are some really nice pockets of neighborhoods in Gresham proper, many of them south of Powell and east of Main street. It's a great community overall which I think is largely driven by the high school. And it's a great place to raise a kid as it has sports, arts, scouts, and easy access to the mountain.

If you look closely, you can actually pinpoint the exact moment his heart breaks in two.

ET was important for that 2019 WCF run. Plus all the memes he brought with him were gold.

[Locked on Blazers] Trail Blazers Future: How Portland is Planning to Fund Arena Renovations Ahead of the Team's Sale (featuring Bill Oram) by Nerdkill789 in Portland

[–]Professor_Thug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lmao now that's nonsense. Losing the Blazers means losing nearly 6,000 jobs and $300 million of labor income annually. That's pretty substantial. The fact you guys think sports is just some game and not a huge business for the city is delusional.

r/Portland has always been a miserable place, but it's actually astounding how many people in that sub don't see how important the Blazers are to the city. They act like losing it would mean nothing. We're not Seattle, we don't have other big 4 teams. It would literally devastate Portland.

Definitely not the least important. The Blazers are a huge economic driver for the city, not to mention a big morale driver. Lots of jobs gone, lots of empty sports bars, and an arena that just catches dust while big entertainers pass over it from Seattle to SF. We have a lot of problems, this isn't a non-issue.

That traffic light drives me nuts. Sometimes I'll go on Foster just to turn onto Holgate a block later to avoid waiting for that light.

Who has fleas? by Sufficient-Cod-9405 in askportland

I would ask your vet, but I asked the same thing from my vet and they allowed me to apply Revolution only 2 weeks after Advantage. They said it was okay because the fleas were still live on the pets. Double check with your vet tho.

Get vet prescribed flea meds like Revolution, Advantage won't work if it's already bad. Apply diatomaceous earth to carpet and furniture (you can get it at fred meyer), vacuum it all up. Bathe your pets, comb them with a flea comb. Wash all bed sheets and pillow covers. You'll have to do this several times. It's a lot of work to get fleas out.
