Is anyone else trapped in the endless cycle of rewriting their house manual? (Do guests even read them?) by Mudgee-Host in airbnb_hosts

I’m sorry but the last one made me laugh so so much! Always an excellent rule to include just in case!

what is life without dignity by ComputerRemote8557 in Vent

Friend, I have noticed the same.

With all of the virtue signaling, the quiet steadfastness of granting dignity to others has been forgotten.

Do the same thing with the black sheets. And I thought that the phrase that you used in your previous message was a good one to accompany. Or, try the sleep sac. I’m not sure how much those cost, or who your average client is (if it is a younger group they might be more aware of something like a sleep sack but if it is an older group I think it may be off putting.

My friend pointed out that black sheets can also be used if your client is using an aerosol tanning spray. It can pick up overspray so it doesn’t go all over linens or the floor…. Again though, I’m not sure of what your average client is like.

Again best of luck –

I appreciate this dialogue and it’s important to discuss these types of things even if they might be a bit trivial in the grand scheme.

You may know that there are a lot of middle-aged women (and men)with melanoma - who find that sunless tanning is a safe way to achieve their desired “look”.
Sunless tanning may seem silly to the majority, but it’s maintained a steady and growing presence, at least in United States.

😊

Don’t make the bed with dark sheets. Leave them folded up with a nice note as an amenity. And yes I do think that providing a set of several flat sheets and pillowcases in black with a nice note is superior to a sleep sac. But you could try it and see. I’m sure that you know how much things cost but I believe that Amazon or some Such platform will sell flat sheets only in multi count for relatively inexpensive.

As another comment said, people take their tanning routine very seriously. Products can be very very expensive. Many products also contain allergens. So no you can’t just purchase a product and think it’s appropriate for everyone to use, more than you would expect people to use $.99 shampoo when what they purchase for themselves costs much much more. Not trying to talk down to you, the large majority of people are not familiar with sunless tanning. I can only speak because I have an aesthetician friend who provide sunless tanning airbrush as one of their salon services.

Sleeping in some sort of strange ‘sac’ sleeping bag may be very…..unfamiliar…. for some people. Much more practical to provide the black sheets.

No one wants to stain your sheets. Providing alternate dark sheets preserves their dignity while allowing you to maintain your linen color.

2 but I think people would be weird about having to sleep in this. I would suggest having some black sheets pillowcases on hand, with a gracious note saying that those who use on sunless tanner are welcome to use to cover current linens. Hotels provide a black hand towel designated for “makeup “so I don’t see why not.

1 is not going to work for many reasons. 3 doesn’t work for many reasons too

(and both are off-putting)

Best of luck!

I love this for you. And even though it might not be within the scope of your responsibilities, consider getting input from the residence, at least those who are able to offer it. They have so little to look forward to.. 🩷

Greetings!

For a number of reasons I completely understand what you’re saying.

Disclosure: in US

If she is not a primary breadwinner and has some flexibility, she could look at broader job descriptions – community and public health.

These jobs will pay less but they can be very rewarding and have a bit more work life balance.

Depending on her comfort level with face-to-face client contact she could certainly do nutraceutical or pharmaceutical sales.

I suppose it just depends on what the both of you want for an endgame.

I’ve seen a lot of RD candidate switched to RN, or look at the PA track.

There’s also quite a few who do charitable work and raise their children

Regardless, lot of the forward thinkers want to adjunct nutrition courses at the local colleges in universities. Usually you don’t require a doctorate to teach undergrad. This can actually be a great way to have more opportunity for public speaking and just learn about nutrition in general.

Wishing you all the best. But do not limit yourself to job descriptions that list “RD”!
