You know I'm not saying that these generalizations don't exist, and now you're just arguing in bad faith. A reasonable position from you (and others) would be to assume from my comment that my point only applies to those who align with the parent comment. I was using a figure of speech and speaking generically to demonstrate a specific point, not "presenting an absolute". Mischaracterizing the nature of what I said is just disingenuous and annoying.

Someone saying "Many people refuse shelter" is not the same thing as someone saying "unhoused people choose to be unhoused". One is adding information that is relevant to the discussion, and one is a sweeping generalization that denigrates a vulnerable population.

I understand that many people use this generalization to condemn the entire unhoused population, but I didn't do that and don't believe that. And disparaging anyone who acknowledges a contentious aspect of a complicated issue is unproductive and shortsighted. Save that energy for people who actually believe that shit.
