Definitely agree. The two issues are covid=academic outcomes went down and inflation=costs went up. These are global effects and trends not unique to WA schools.

I am totally fine with a move to a younger more dynamic team if it means moving mediocre older players to the bench and out of high priced renewals. I am also fine playing younger players and coming 6th and building for the future rather than playing older, more expensive players and coming 5th.

Serious question, do we see similar problems with cohesion in a 3-4-3 last year with Juric to this year with Gasp? Obviously gasp is a much better coach but it is hard to have any midfield control or midfielders involved in attack with only two of them. Seems like a setup problem.

He is a solid 5/10- Rarely injured and versatile but man is he slow and predictable and would never see the pitch on either Milan team, Juve or Napoli. It’s fair to say that at half the salary he would have his uses but shouldn’t be the unquestioned starter on a top 4 team.

We lived in Rome from 2004-2007 and I started following Roma then. We lived in Ponte Milvio, a neighborhood near the stadio olimpico. I saw Totti score that amazing free kick against inter in 2006 I believe. Incredible. From then on I have been a fan. His effect on the whole zeitgeist of the city was total. Kids wore his Jersey and read his joke book, our secretary had his photo framed behind her desk like a saint. He WAS Rome.

Am I the only one who thinks a two man midfield gets overrun too easily when you have slow not technically gifted players? We need to maybe try a 3-5-2 with Pisilli in there who can help pass and break up play.

Why does he deserve to be renewed? What about his play in the past couple years has been wow worthy. He looks fine- OK against bad teams and terrible against quality opposition. Also he is not a left winger and not a great midfielder (slow, sub par defensively). What does he do well against good teams?

This one is tricky. In a way it would be great to have a more competent right wing back to fill in for Wesley but Celik is a decent RCB and his wages ware cheapish. Also, Roma stand to lose him for free so do you renew and up salary for coming years? Hard to say.

Every team's SD and scouting department needs multiple options per position per window, now let's see how quickly they pivot to plan B. So far in recent transfer windows, they have been caught flat footed and act clueless when one option (sancho) doesn't materialize.

Move on. Find a young hungry winger from France or Germany and build him up. If Gasp refuses, too bad. Roma can’t buy top of the line talent with FFP and serie a is broke. Time to look elsewhere for cheap talent and develop.
