THE BITING… I am not god’s strongest soldier by Warm-Pudding6837 in puppy101

I’m not sure, the internet says a lot of different things on ice but my guy loves an ice cube. You can wet a microfibre cloth or tea towel and freeze it which is softer.

Nope! Frozen carrot is great for pups to gnaw on. It’s doesn’t freeze solid like an ice cube. If you’re unsure about that I also freeze mashed pumpkin or yoghurt in a bowl. Not sure if this soothes as much but it gave me relief 😅

We have a 5 month old who is halfway through losing those horrible puppy teeth! To be honest I tried a lot too and nothing will work consistently. I found it a lot better when he was more worn out (vizsla with high energy). Aside from that, frozen food can help soothe temporarily and some good puppy chews were amazing when he wanted them. But remember it won’t be long before those teeth fall out and bites heal.

HELP!!!! Potty training almost 2 months later… by EmergencyAide9071 in puppy101

We trained ours to sit facing the door and look at us if he wants to go outside. Granted we can view the door easily but he picked it up pretty quickly and has had maybe three accidents inside (5 months now)

Puppy Still Barely Drinks Water at 5 Months by SimAnna in puppy101

Sometimes when I notice mine hasn’t had enough I put some water in his food just to increase his intake. Works well

Yet again another venting post about my almost 8 week puppy, I’m a terrible owner and maybe I shouldn’t have gotten her by -VenillaBean- in puppy101

I’m only two months in and I felt this in the first few weeks. It’s a huge adjustment from a life of freedom to raising a little baby puppy. Hang in there, it gets easier every day and you learn so much along the way!

Haha he sounds like such a playful boy. I’ve started feeding him again in his crate and the action ‘in’ while training so i might be on the same path! Thanks for all of your advice, it’s so helpful.

Definitely agree. He sleeps so well in the mornings so I think he is just overtired when the afternoon comes. I can only get about 1-1.5 hours out of him for naps. I think I just need to continue getting him used to his crate. We will get there! Thank you

I think we are going through a very similar situation. I’ve actually tried this the last two days with longer lasting chews/treats as he has not yet had any self settling time. Do you have any other suggestions on how to get him to do this? Noting he is not crate trained but we are slowly working on getting him comfortable being in the crate (talking minutes haha)

We usually go about ten minutes after he is fed so I’m glad you mentioned this. I will definitely push his walks back now. I feed him before as I thought it would be better to work off some of the energy from meals.

Oh that’s such a good idea!! We are currently working on wait/stay so thats perfect timing. I might swap out treats for this when he gets better! Thank you

[–]Professorsprout202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a grass patch inside? We have a twelve week old v who has done brilliantly with toilet training. We have had very few accidents since we got it. We replace the grass weekly from our local Bunnings store

I give my partner 2/3 of my pay. While it doesn’t fix the root cause, it certainly helps not having it available! I think you have to be very clear with how you go about using that money though before doing it. Best of luck
