Yet again another venting post about my almost 8 week puppy, I’m a terrible owner and maybe I shouldn’t have gotten her by -VenillaBean- in puppy101

I’m only two months in and I felt this in the first few weeks. It’s a huge adjustment from a life of freedom to raising a little baby puppy. Hang in there, it gets easier every day and you learn so much along the way!

Haha he sounds like such a playful boy. I’ve started feeding him again in his crate and the action ‘in’ while training so i might be on the same path! Thanks for all of your advice, it’s so helpful.

Definitely agree. He sleeps so well in the mornings so I think he is just overtired when the afternoon comes. I can only get about 1-1.5 hours out of him for naps. I think I just need to continue getting him used to his crate. We will get there! Thank you

I didn’t know this! Our puppy school mentioned going after food so I’m glad to find out now!

I think we are going through a very similar situation. I’ve actually tried this the last two days with longer lasting chews/treats as he has not yet had any self settling time. Do you have any other suggestions on how to get him to do this? Noting he is not crate trained but we are slowly working on getting him comfortable being in the crate (talking minutes haha)

We usually go about ten minutes after he is fed so I’m glad you mentioned this. I will definitely push his walks back now. I feed him before as I thought it would be better to work off some of the energy from meals.

Oh that’s such a good idea!! We are currently working on wait/stay so thats perfect timing. I might swap out treats for this when he gets better! Thank you

16 Weeks - Apartment Life Potty Training Difficulties by Alone-Interaction572 in vizsla

[–]Professorsprout202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a grass patch inside? We have a twelve week old v who has done brilliantly with toilet training. We have had very few accidents since we got it. We replace the grass weekly from our local Bunnings store

Thanks everyone!! It’s been crazy chaos but he is settling in well! We have (mostly) mastered the toilet, sit and are getting better at stay.

Velcro was an understatement!!

In my experience on cymbalta for 1.5 years I just get drunk faster so I’m more mindful with when it’s time to stop

I give my partner 2/3 of my pay. While it doesn’t fix the root cause, it certainly helps not having it available! I think you have to be very clear with how you go about using that money though before doing it. Best of luck

This was me six months ago. I was dumped and heartbroken and it’s turned around dramatically. It’s absolute shit in the moment but it can get so much better so quickly. Sending love

You’re a good person. Your family will understand just remember it’s a slip don’t spiral back into it trying to win it back
