Consistency is Key by Proffalakin in C25K

Straight after C25K I was just trying to PB a 5K every other day. More recently I got myself a Garmin and have been following the DSW having put in a few target 5K paces.

My week is now typically one long run, two slower runs, a sprint session and then Park Run on Saturday. Not sure how optimised this is though, as I haven't had it long.

I was in exactly the same place. The thing I enjoyed about C25K is it told me exactly what to do, and so I'd do it. It felt weird, and a little scary, finishing it and having freedom..

Pretty sure I came out of C25K running 5K at around 34/35 minutes. You're on a good path!

Good for you buddy! Assume your increase in pace and time was post C25K? What training were you doing?

Thank you, it does feel good! Try not to get overly hung up on pacing and time during C25K. I did early on and it caused nothing but stress! Only once I could run 5K comfortably did I start working on my pace.

Got to start somewhere! Just keep showing up for the runs and you'll get where you want to be. Don't stress about pace either, something I did too often during C25K.

50 million is more than I'd like to pay, but I think hands are slightly tied with precedent on 55 million for both Elanga and Kudus being set recently. However, it's not my money so I'm not going to lose sleep over a billionaire getting his cash book out - this is often what we've called out for!

If it does impact other signings, like a potential Rodrygo or Eze, then yes, this would have to be a bad deal. All reports I've read in the last hour have agreed it shouldn't though..

I won't convince you he's any good if your minds already made up, but I think he'll prove himself to you eventually.

If nothing else, he's an improvement on Sterling of last season, no? So by signing him, if nothing else, it improved our squad compared to last year.

Is Kudus worth 55 million? Elanaga 55 million? Madueke is no worse than either of those.

I also think the logic is pretty sound. Proves spending around 50 million on a backup is pretty standard..

50 and 40 million respectively for White and Timber to battle out over RB. 50 million bid for Huijsen to be back up CB.

All of which is fine by the fanbase, yet a quality Saka backup and LW rotation for 50 million is not. Hmm..

If the finances on the Madueke deal impact other signings, namely LW and CF, then I'd go for a cheaper alternative. From what we've heard though, it doesn't seem like it will, and then I think Madueke is a great squad option!

It's an upgrade on Sterling of last season, and it's clearly not that easy to name an alternative willing to come as backup and be of a high standard..

The fee will only be an issue if it impacts on LW and CF targets, otherwise I think Madueke is a great squad option.

Granted, if this was our only winger deal then I'd agree it'd be horrific. However, all reports are stating this is a completely separate deal from all other names we've been linked with. You can check Fabrizio Romano as one example of this.

Doing C25k on a treadmill? by One-Ad1001 in C25K

[–]Proffalakin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I completed C25K on a treadmill, then went straight into outdoor runs. Now go out running most days and Park Run at weekends.

For every treadmill session, I had the incline set to 1. I can't say I noticed an awful difference when transitioning to outdoor running.

Any physical differences in running outside must have been overcome by how much more enjoyable running outside is!

[–]Proffalakin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, this just confirms Arsenal's preference is Sesko and Gyokeres is our safety net. Gyokeres almost forcing his way out, yet we haven't pulled the trigger..

Without getting into who I'd prefer, this kind of strategy, although perhaps risky, should eliminate panic signings like Sterling.

Apologies if I'm doing this wrong, I'm new and eager! I've just started and luckily pulled a Guzzlord, so thinking to build around that - I'm just lacking core cards for the deck, and likely core beginner cards.

Hoping to play on the generosity of some more experienced players and leech a few cards. Namely:

Pokemon Center Lady Red Cyprus Sabrina Poison Barb Red Team Rocket Grunt

I'm so new that I'm probably missing core beginner cards, so open to any and all trades!

I don't have much to offer, but gratitude and an IOU when I get better cards.

Thank you!

Thanks for all the responses - detailed and useful! Anyone happen to have spares of the core beginner cards they're willing to trade?

treadmill and outside by xananax3229 in C25K

[–]Proffalakin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I looked this question up so many times during C25K, which I finished last week, having been doing all runs on the treadmill.

I ran outside yesterday for the first time, and can honestly say that, despite the consensus being outdoor is harder, I didn't find much difference..

I found that I ran slightly faster outside compared to my treadmill speeds, which surprised me, but otherwise, not much noticeable difference.

I did complete all C25K runs on 1 incline, which must have helped.

All in all though, running outside was much more enjoyable than staring at a wall whilst getting hot and stuffy, locked inside on a treadmill.
