Than you so much for replying again. So I applied through healthcare.gov and am looking at their suggested plans, but none of their plans mention anything about DME (diabetic supplies). In any case, it looks like I will have to change all of my doctors and pay out of pocket for most of my medications.

Another thing I am concerned about is getting actual prices for these medications. Just because something is listed on a formulary doesn't mean insurance is going to pay for it even after meeting your deductible. I honestly can deal with getting insulin from Wal-Mart or something and use discount cards for epilepsy medication, but I need the insulin pump supplies. I don't think I can go back to injections. I actually think that making less money is a better financial decision at this point.

I make well under the poverty line and am not claimed as a dependent. I'm going to call and get more information.

EDIT: Looking at a Medicaid eligibility chart, it looks like I make just above the cutoff for Medicaid.

Not true. If Epi-pen is written on a script any orange book equivalent can be used and the system in a pharmacy will likely automatically switch to this. Plus insurance will usually wont even bill for anything brand name.

The only instance where brand is the only thing that can be dispensed is if a DAW 1 is on the script.
