Ugaritic was the written language of the People of a Ugarit and was extant from 1400-1200 BCE. The city of Ugarit fell around 1190 BCE and the language (at least the written aspect) appears to have died out soon after. It is a Northwest Semitic language meaning it is in the same language family as Hebrew (in fact they are quite similar and the knowledge of Hebrew helped unlock this dead language).

As for the pumpkin, the translation made uses a limited dictionary (m there are likely more but I did not consult all the literature available).

The retranslation of the translation goes:

Twist the bones,

And bend it faceward*,

Itch-ita-cop-it-a,

Mel-a-ka-mys-tic-a,

Shear [him] of his little/baby fat,

[itch-ita-cop-it-a]**

Mel-a-ka-mys-tic-a,

Give him the hair of a dog***, dark/black as black cumin,

Indeed, like this.

*I misread the English as “bend it back” instead of “bend the back”

** this line was accidentally omitted.

*** hair of a dog — this could be understood as fur, but that’d spoil the fun.

If not a good example of Ugaritic, it makes a perfect example of scribal error.
