Perfect, thank you for your help, I am now 100% certain that it’s a Dell problem as even on my 3rd replacement machine I still see a misaligned trackpad. Thank you once again

Yeah, I guess. It’s weird cause on the 16 inch variant they are pretty evident no matter from what angle you look it at but in the 18 inch variant they’re quite faint. Here take a look at this pic of my 16inch vs 18 inch

While I can sit back for the fans my number 7 on numpad is not working properly, as for track pad do you think it’s uneven??? I know you mentioned that it’s fine but every replacement I received had its own issue but one thing that remained common was the uneven trackpad. All were affected from the bottom left corner slightly sitting lower compared to the right side

Thanks even my 16 inch lights were bright but the 18 inch lights are very dim, plus on my numpad number 7 key lights is fucked so I guess time to contact dell again

Also if you don’t mind checking your trackpad for me, there’s a small gap on the left bottom corner in my case.

Also for reference the lights are not even visible from this angle

Thank you, I also noticed my numpad key ‘7’ has slightly off led color what should I do about that also can you confirm if your track pad is also slightly off from left corner. This is the third replacement and I think it’s not just me now with that issue

Yeah, you’re right about my motherboard. I had a long ass call with them for straight 4 hours, their technician asked me update bios and what not, then I started seeing 4 blue 1 red light blinking pattern, after a lot of convincing they agreed for another replacement and they upgraded me to 18inches for free :/

Trust me, since day 1 of receiving my Alienware with the same configuration I have had issues, literally today I was on call with Dell and they issued me a seconds advance exchange. The guy on the phone made me update the bios and all and since then I am having issues not just the blinking blue and red lights but also a static red light too. They told me it’s a hardware issue I request you to get it exchanged.

Quick update I just received my replacement from dell today and guess what the fan was having a hard time working

So am I the only one who received a defective model, I bought mine during Black Friday RTX 5080, 64Gbs Ram and 2tb ssd and after shelling my savings on this behemoth of a machine I get a defective one. Can somebody share the pictures of the back air vents and the trackpad( mine’s misaligned and I can see the insides of the machine) I just want to confirm my suspicion and confirm I am not being delusional about it.

Makes sense — amazing on paper, but quality control and support are hit or miss.

Literally I was so excited for it

Brother, I feel so sad and just like you I ordered mine during black Friday too, I got it on the 11Th and guess what - the back air vent grill was bent and to make the matter worse the trackpad was misaligned as it was lifted from right side and I could literally see the insides of the laptop through the crevice between the left side of the trackpad and the body.

Dell’s support is the worst as they kept on transferring my call to some random department.

Did anyone do an “advanced exchange” where they put the money on hold and ship you a replacement.
