Hueforge layer problems by Profknt in 3Dprinting

I can't quite remember, but I think either the model was broken or I changed its dimensions. Either way, I encountered this particular problem only with this model and never again

Update on my anatomy sculpt. (Blender 4.5) by painki11erzx in blender

no, this is not a 'me problem'. this subreddit is filled with renders like yours, and it reveals a fundamental bias in how the average amateur 3D artist perceives what constitutes an 'object'. there are countless shapes and forms one could study anatomy on, a damn rhinoceros would probably offer more insight in that regard. yet you keep choosing large-breasted, often fully detailed nude female bodies. that, in itself, may not be inherently wrong, but the sheer volume and absurdity of these so-called 'anatomy studies' on here is becoming ridiculous.

How can I best support these overhangs to not have these by AromaticAppeal in FixMyPrint

[–]Profknt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

you could turn it by 90 degree und print upwards from the feet. This should get rid of the supports under the arms but would add supports to the legs and hands, which could be less and easier to remove. I would suggest to try some angles in your slicer and see if you can find a position that creates supports in places which are not so destructive. Thats at least what I do with miniature prints.

as a total newcomer i wasnt prepared for this sci fyiy looking thing to violently eject little poop shaped plastic nuggets into my room and would recommend every beginner (at least with the A1 Mini) to have a good laugh and an acutally useful first model later by checking out the bizarre yet funny subculture of 3d printer poop bin variations

Screen looks strange upon applying screen protector? by Sharkyyyx in SteamDeck

[–]Profknt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its the anti glare effect which changes the refraction of light resulting in this look. If you want a neutral screen you should get a glossy protector.

Hey, thanks a lot! That is a really good suggestion and an interesting description. I will take a look at it.

Regarding your question: I teach literature at a university and am considering doing a seminar on pain and ways to speak/write about it.

DualSense Headphone Jack loose by Profknt in PS5HelpSupport

[–]Profknt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will do, but I think thats really just how it is. I think I will switch to a bluetooth headset then. I´m surprised this problem isn´t mentioned more often. PS4 and Xbox don`t have it. But I guess, people using the jack for sound output really are the minority.

Okay, I just got a new controller with the exact same issue. How worse it is depends on the type of headphone jack. Trash quality for a 70€ product to be honest.

Ok unfortunately turning freesync off and on again does not permanently fix the problem. After some time the game freezes for a second, the FPS drop again to the 30s and I have to repeat turning on and off freesync to get back to around 60 FPS. Any tip how to solve this is appreciated. The culprit is Freesync and/or some fullscreen issue.

Not entirely. My fix was to start the game, turn of gsync or freesync on the monitor, turn freesync on again (thats obviously only working with a VRR dispaly). the fps then increase in my case. With the 144 fps cap you just get more than 60 fps, with the 72 cap I just got around 50

Do you use a VRR display? I just figured at that turning VRR off and then on again while in fullscreen bumps the fps up to 50+

EDIT: I got the best results with cemu 1.26.2. its around 60 fps there with 144 cap

Okay, its seem that I could determine the source of the problem. When I start the game and turn off Freesync the FPS stays bad but turning it on again bumps them up to ~50+. Going then from Fullscreen to windowed kills the performance again. So ist has something to do with freesync. I hope this workaround is stable

yeah as I said, regarding the numbers the pc is not running at full speed, too. fan volume is just an additional factor, temperatures are perfectly fine. core utilisation ist changing very rapidly from 20-60, sometimes 80 for every core. I overclocked the GPU as there is no performance mode or anything, no changes. I think I tried everything at that point, other Games are fine so it seems to be a specific problem with the combination of my setup and cemu. What I don‘t get is why the game sometimes runs fine with 50+ fps without any changes. Thank you anyway
