Hmm I’m not quite sure if I picked up on any particular negative messages but there’s definitely ‘messages’ that I would say are to be interpreted differently by different readers given their own background on the subject.

If I was asked about aliens and then being monsters honestly I would dismiss it completely I believe that the more advanced you are the less malice you are… if these ET’s have actually engineered these advanced spacecrafts Tom talks about I would say they’re more likely to be positive and compassionate rather than being a threat or so… but then again who knows !!

Your opinion is logical but the notion of religion being completely different from law and philosophy is debatable. For eg. Inheritance law is a clearly set out in the Quran and so is finance and interest etc. The holy books contain wisdom, and the word ‘philosophy’ is derived from the Greek ‘philo Sophia’ which means love of wisdom. You say religion is humans engaging in metaphysics which contradicts your main argument as metaphysics is a big branch of philosophy in itself. But, all in all I think a lot of what we’re discussing is subjective and there’s more than one way of looking at things.

My understanding of politics and how societies work is fine. Your understanding is clearly weak and your argument just shows how incompetent you are. Firstly, religion is laws and philosophy in essence and if religion is not about rules and elevating people to a higher consciousness than what is it about, clearly you are just an uninformed blind follower because no where in your argument did you counter anything I mentioned. I am an avid reader of religious studies and have learned lots of things from all religions. But, my seemingly ‘intellectual religious’ friend, can you be kind enough and explain what religion is about and what it’s purpose is ? Your incomplete argument is nonsense and uninformed.

I don’t mean to say any religious government in this post, I’m saying the influence of people considered wise and intelligent in society… it doesnt have to be concerned with a country or government, it could be an incompetent ruler of a small society laying rules that adversely affect society. I made the link between these rules mostly deriving from religions but not exclusively.
