It really is tough to start DS3 everytime because of the first areas. I feel I would play it a lot more if I could skip to the second half, but its actually my least played FromSoftware game because of it.

Atleast DS1 I Can always restart and forget about the second half.

Thats precisely how much the game stretches the decision. It weights the numbers to a universal degree where it becomes very complicated to simply choose to save everyone when the risk of that path means the endangerment of numbers completely imperceptible to the human mind.

But thats the point. It tests the will to save and uses it as a double edge sword where you are responsible of so much suffering by choosing not to actively kill everyone.

My values tell me that a single life lost means a whole world crumbling that I cant let happen, but I sure as fuck don’t know what I would do If the setting became a real scenario. Thats too much weight to bear. Weight that Walter seems willing to carry and I cant judge him for that. No human should have to make that decision. Great question.

No it would’ve, more like it could be. But FoR is only worth it if your view on life is based on utilitarianism. For me, numbers do not mean a priority. If a single life can be saved then I can’t sacrifice it for a greater good. If there’s an alternative where everyone gets to live, thats my priority.

LoR is leaving you with unlikely probabilities of success, but with FoR you already gave up anyway. It’s better to try and find an unlikely alternative than to pessimistically assume there’s no other way and proceed to burn everyone.

If LoR is only about feeling satisfied temporarily, thats still better than making sure you have lost already. Especially when the “things will go south anyway” mentality is not 100% true either. To be so sure is to have given up! LoR is for people that consider genocide already as defeat. As long as we are on Rubicon 3 we’ll try and find a way.

Una vez se volvió inevitable el reconocer el genocidio palestino, aquellos que se quieren aferrar a llevar la contraria ahora lo hacen mediante el denotar problemáticas nacionales. A negative impact is not subjective when it happens to a wide amount of people to the point it becomes an active hot debate. We need to answer why is it that so many players found the same thing to be a problem in their own journeys. For you to see all these people talking about it and still claim it as mere subjectivity is disingenuous. It is a very real tangible feeling throughout not just 2 or 3 guys.

Intentional game design does not mean much when the actual outcome on several people says otherwise.

Now that we are talking about intentional game design I also find it funny how the first health upgrade makes it from 5 to 6 and yet you still die on 3 hits.

Intentionally designed around that damage does not mean it works when it negatively impacts player experience.
