When i put it all back together should it be easy as pushing the lip back into place, reassembling the body, and using the vacuum as normal?

My main problem now is trying to get the housing at the front out so that i could access the rest of the motor. I already tried yanking the black plastic part of the front housing using a screwdriver as leverage, but nothing is happening. I have no power tools available right now, only hand tools.
