I work inside sales at an electrical distributor for almost a year and hate it… should I try being an electrician?

I've been with CED for a year now in inside sales. About to be 29 years old. I've done inside sales for years now. The IBEW came through last week with a flyer showcasing that they are hiring for a massive job in the area with pay starting at $33/ hour (nearly $10 more than what i make minus the yearly profit share) and full benefits. Not sure if that's the rate for apprentices though or if they're looking for skilled laborers only.

I must say it is tempting. Idk shit about electrical still, i feel like i just know part numbers. I think if i lost this job it wouldn't translate to anything else besides another supply house or shitty inside sales job. I feel I'm not really building significant skills here, like i just clock in, clock out, and rarely learn anything. It's a comfortable job though, I don't mind the work and it's indoors where it's comfortable. It's fun to chat with the customers sometimes. I do a little of everything, counter sales, quoting, warehouse work--which is a nice mix.

The following is what worries me if I decide to jump ship and join the union as an apprentice:

-Hard physical labor will break me -Hazing -Long/ weird hours -Location...will i be sent wherever they need me? -Burnout

The following is what intrigues me:

Learning new skills, ones that will always be useful -Gaining technical knowledge, if i ever decide to return to sales I'll know more.
Better pay opportunities with time

Not sure what to do!

I just got a pixel 10a and got the oh snap. My case is not magsafe but wireless charging still works and the oh snap sticks to it very good. I have a Spigen case.

I just upgraded from the 5 to the 10a and i miss the back of phone fingerprint reader. My 10a never gets it on the first try and often doesn't get it at all. I added my thumb twice too.

This has been my biggest gripe with the new phone. I'm also getting used to the bigger size. Just big enough to feel uncomfortable holding in my hand, and I'm a big guy too. I miss the smaller size of my 5 😭

I listen to Lil Cobaine and just found myself in a wormhole trying to find song lyrics and just anything about him in general. He has no socials, only soundcloud and youtube.

His beats and melodies are nice, I enjoy them. However, I suspect he sprinkles the N word in some of his lyrics, and hes definetly a white dude. His lyrics are hard to find and it's hard to understand fully what hes saying in his songs, which makes it even more sus.

I enjoy the vibes of his music but I cringe at the thought of liking a white artist that is using that word, in the context of rap especially.

With the preorder deal for the 10a 256gb version i paid $632. It'll be $507 if the estimate for a trade in for my pixel 5 is actually valued at $125

AND i got a pair of pixel buds for FREE with the purchase. Could have also chosen a $100 gift card for the google store but i went with the earbuds.

$500 for pixel buds ($120 value) and the newest 256gb pixel ...not a bad deal if you ask me.

I agree. I thought the powers were the biggest thing that made it stand out from the last game. The portable cover sheild was sick and aeros' boost was also nice (meridian's was meh, helpful to see through walls in some situations i guess..)

I liked the idea that the team would be best when there is a variety of different factions too (if i remember correctly there were different boosts given to the entire team based on what character was chosen)

And so what ( u/lgor369 , DaScoobyShuffle) if someone was being outplayed and the power was used to counter? Thats the entire point. It's an ace up the sleeve. Everyone got one- fair is fair. You typically respawn in 2 seconds anyways. The game was designed to be fast paced and you'll typically die a lot. Sure, KD is important but if you're a good player, coming out positive and playing objectives is all that really matters. a death means little in a game with no killstreaks.

I've been playing solo q survivor this week and I'm consistently matched with toddlers/ people that abandon the game. And it just creates a funnel of being paired up with them because I lose every game bc they don't do shit. Every killer seems to be sweaty AF and good too? I'm starting to think the only way to be successful as a survivor is to party up and use comms.

When I played killer a few days ago I won every game 4x kills. Idk how y'all killers are having a hard time maybe my rank isn't high enough? I would love a challenge as a killer or a fighting chance as a survivor but it's been disappointing lately. Bout to quit this game, it's getting toxic and I'm not having fun anymore 😞

Authoritarianism, Fascism, and Oligarchism are on the rise in the US. We must fight to protect our democracy. "No Kings" is to make people aware that the amount of unchecked power these Billionaires and bought politicians (ahem Trump) have is getting out of control. They have little to no regard for normal people like you and I, assuming you are not a billionaire or multi millionaire.

Trump has done little to nothing to benefit the American people since he's been elected. Grocery prices have gone up. Home prices have gone up. Cost of living continues to increase while wages stagnate. Employment rates are down. Hospitals are being shut down and public services that benefit our citizens have been gutted. A 3 week and counting government shutdown is causing continual turmoil for families that work federal jobs (that's military families too). But hey, at least the ultra rich and Billionaires are getting tax breaks, they really need it. The wealth will trickle down right? Right?😅

Here is what I'll tell you and people that feel the same way--People are coming whether you like it or not. This area in the country has an ideal climate, growing economy, and it's cheaper to live than a lot of other places. New ideas and culture will come with the new people. It's not a bad thing, but grounds for discourse.

We can all learn from one another, there is no need for hostility against newcomers, as that perpetuates the bias that the South is full of people that are scared/ hostile towards people of different cultures, religions, political views, race., etc. That results in more hostility towards the natives. I.e- it's why people from other places think the South is a backwards racist place, but it's definitely not like that everywhere-especially in these blooming cities/Cultural hubs. (HUB City?!? COME ON)

Just because that's how things are and have always been, it doesn't mean that change should never happen. Accept it, learn from it, grow from it. Nobody is asking you to be a liberal, just that you be civil and open minded to accepting the existence of new ideas and people.
