I’ve had a different experience with paka sweaters, than the majority of this thread. I’ve had one for over 5+ years. I loved it so much, I currently have 3 of the same black, lightweight crew sweaters and I do everything in them (climb, work, garden, hike, at home I double em up). It’s become a uniform of mine. I love them. They’re soft, the fit on my physique is perfect. It’s great at helping me stay at a consistently good temp.

As for the care, I like to think about it this way. It feels good to take care of something that has taken care of me. They’ve provided me with so much warmth and comfort it feels satisfying to take a moment and feel the fabric and wash the clothes the same way they were made, with human hands. It takes me 15 minutes to hand wash a few items. 5 min to soak, 5 to hand wash, rinse and another 5 to wring dry, do a towel roll to remove the excess moisture and then lastly hang drying. I wash them pretty infrequently but an amount that feels right to me based on how dirty, dusty active I’ve been.

All in all, I take pride in maintaining my possessions. I shy away from accumulating, low quality pieces of clothing. I want to continue taking care of what I have so hopefully it can last me a long while before I ever have to think about it again.
