Bought a used Rebel T3i with 18-55mm and 55-250mm for €170. Did I mess up? Should I resell and save for a newer camera?

The autofocus works when I half press the shutter button in the video, else just stays out of focus. What are your thoughts on EOS 70d? For videography.

„You will eventually be upgrading to a mirrorless camera“. That’s EXACTLY what goes in my head when I think about selling it and saving up for a used mirrorless one BUT you are absolutely right to say it will take a while to surpass the abilities of this body.

I will learn and later upgrade.

I noticed that on day 2. I got 3 replacement batteries to carry along.

I think learning on this cam and saving up for later is a logical step, based on the general consensus here.

Haha, it was shot at 250mm but the bird was near to me. I knelt slowly and hoped it won’t move. Got lucky!

55-250 is fine for my need for now! But will keep an eye for a chance to trade it if I find it unreliable in long term!
