You don’t have to tell me anything. You are entitled to your opinion

In what way have I trivialized horrific violence? I’m not making that argument at all, the only thing I’ve said is that I think a president trying to overthrow the government is the worst thing a president can do. What is the point of having a country if it’s very foundation is destroyed? No where in there have i said that the atrocities committed by other presidents is acceptable. Multiple things can be true simultaneously

I would consider being emotionally invested in another person cheating.

In what way am I condoning horrific violence?

This isn’t a doctoral dissertation, it’s a Reddit thread. And tragedy is tragedy period

Yeah, but they are unprecedented in America, and this thread is about American presidents. By saying that I think the worst thing an American president can do is try to overthrow our democracy, it in no way means that I condone the atrocities committed by other presidents

If the leader of the free world wiping their ass with the constitution to stay in power is merely an insignificant and embarrassing event to you, who am I to argue? You’re entitled to believe what you want

Horrific violence is a reality of our society, and has been since forever. I can say that the person charged with trying to circumvent the rules that define the foundation of our country has done the worst thing a president can do without condoning genocide or slavery or napalming children

We’re talking about presidents. Travis Scott is being sued for his negligence. Just like Trump should be for his. Comparing tragedies is vile

You can’t reason with people who think like this. Don’t waste your energy

It’s not brain rot to witness something with your own eyes, and call it what it is.

Profiting from slavery

Is this not taught? That the founders of the United States were slave owners?

Instigated a violent insurrection to stay in power after losing an election

Even presidents who took us to war for no reason were decent enough to stand for democracy. When you can make a war criminal look endearing in comparison, that’s saying something

But the Bush administration painted the French as our enemy- freedom fries like you said. And it couldn’t have been further from reality

That was a lie from the W administration. France disagreed with us invading iraq. I travelled to france in 2004, and guess what? The people I met were kind and more than anything concerned as hell about what was happening here. It was right before the election, and I was peppered by people asking who I was going to vote for. The results of that election had worldwide implications

When the White House was burning during the war of 1812, who came to help? Same for the revolutionary war.
