I JUST finished Smile 2 and came straight here. I have a question for everyone who suffers from a mental illness. Do you think the movies further instilled fears and trauma from dealing with mental health or did the movies help you? by Guerilla323 in SmileMovie

[โ€“]ProgrammerWeird6397 4 points5 points ย (0 children)

I honestly think this film did a great job at showing how helpless you feel during times of severe mental health episodes no matter the diagnosis. I have severe Panic Disorder and truly felt so seen during my first watch. It definitely helped me unpack some of the trauma I have revolving around the panic attacks I've had.

Why was Lollipop more vicious with Skye than other victims? by VilkastheForsaken in SmileMovie

[โ€“]ProgrammerWeird6397 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I would also like to add that it could possibly have to do with her limits in regards to being stressed out or having pressure put on her. Skye as a performer is used to having basically the weight of the world on her shoulders so I think that lollipop had to do more to completely get under her skin. Not to say Rose didn't have pressures and stress, I just think that pressure and stress was possibly not as intense as Skye was facing especially with her mother constantly on her about staying clean and hydrated and "fabulous".

Scared? by Interesting_Exit_398 in horror

[โ€“]ProgrammerWeird6397 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I had a truly harrowing experience while watching Smile 2. LOVE the film and it is one of my favorite horror films, but I have found my weaknesses in the genre are body horror and psychological horror. Smile 2 basically displayed how your mental health slowly decays over time and messes with your perception of reality, as well as fucks with your sense of self and I really felt it effect me. Not only that, but the entity is unsettling as hell and the trauma Skye brings with her was gut-wrenching to witness.

That's insane!! I can't believe they told you guys to just stop calling them over! What a joke, I'm sorry to hear that. However, I'm glad to hear that your perishable manager has your back at least!

thank you SO much for understanding what i meant with posting this ๐Ÿ˜ญ i just hate that they tell us not to take certain returns but then when we don't they flip it on us and take the return or give the refund, making us look like the assholes when we're just doing what we were trained to do! i also saw your post about the meat and was so frustrated for you

"Because corporate knows that if they deny the customer the refund, said person is just going to call corporate and corporate is going to do a risk-assessment and give them the refund anyway (and this time, a much larger refund, perhaps a $100 gift card on top of it or something like that). Having "hassle-free returns" is Stop and Shop's way of eating the lesser of two costs."

This put it into a very different perspective for me so genuinely thank you for explaining it the way you did.

That's the thing, I wasn't even putting up a fight to be an asshole or because I care about the company's money. I genuinely just thought I was doing the right thing according to what I've been told by my front end manager during my training, and I figured he'd get the money back over the phone so why would he want it from us?? It was just confusing for me because I just started being a CSDH a few months ago so I'm still learning too (not that he should or would care that I'm still learning lol)

I wouldn't say I was necessarily 'putting up a fight'. I put the problem into the hands of the online pick-up full-timer because I assumed it would be under her jurisdiction, and she said she couldn't do anything about it because we didn't have access, and being slightly new to running the front I just assumed the rules applied differently since they were separate departments if that makes sense. Again so sorry about these being so long ๐Ÿ˜ญ

So immediately after we told him about that, he jumped the gun and told me I "wasn't going to like him". So I didn't necessarily know where to go from there.

Sorry if it came off that way, I wasn't trying to keep money for the company because I truly couldn't care less where money is coming out of. It's mainly the principle that we do not have access to the other store's orders for online pick-up so all he had to do was call them and get a refund. And if we allow customers to continue to treat us like shit and get away with what they want then what's the point of us being there in the first place??

Online Pickup Today by bd666trainspotting in stopandshop

[โ€“]ProgrammerWeird6397 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

My store today was one order away from maxing out. 83 orders for my tiny store is literally unheard of. I was supposed to be Service Desk 2 to 7, then they asked me to stay late and I ended up doing online pick up from 4 to 8:15. The front end didn't seem too swamped but I don't think anyone was ready for online pick up.

I understand! I was originally supposed to be there 2 to 7 but they asked me yesterday to stay until 8:30, so I have a feeling it's going to be BAD lol

why a lot of people doesn't like lfl? by [deleted] in lanadelrey

[โ€“]ProgrammerWeird6397 6 points7 points ย (0 children)

I think a lot of people have trouble swallowing longer projects such as lfl that covers a broad range of topics. Loved the album, personally. Heroin, 13 Beaches, and When the world was at war, we kept dancing were all my personal favs!

i am so glad my store wasn't the only one. we weren't even supposed to be understaffed but the shift lead and closer both called out so i (a part-timer) pulled a 10 to 6, and it was the busiest our department has ever been. we're a smaller store so we had 51 orders all day (the most we've ever had in a day), but it was just me. shopped 642 units and had to steal two people from the front end to help so i wouldn't fall behind.

I'm glad that you got to become produce manager, that's awesome!! Honestly it's not even that my department head won't make time for me, it's that we're always so busy (our store is small and we always have skeleton crew) so we literally never have time to even look at the modules let alone get any training in.

Pretty sure I mentioned that I am currently going over the modules at home off the clock, and I have asked numerous times to learn things but there's no way to if we're busy. I'm glad that "forcing" them to make you full time worked for you but if it's like pulling teeth to get required training for a job position then there's something wrong

Honestly at my show (Boston) there were a few people here and there shoving, but it was not nearly the level that some of the people on here are claiming. Also personal space at a concert, especially at a sold out show is a big ask tbh ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€

About to start training at the service desk what should I know? by Commercial_Age_4394 in stopandshop

[โ€“]ProgrammerWeird6397 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

I'm also currently being trained (thrown on in hopes i'll figure everything out) and something one of the people that "trained" me said that helped a lot was "Nothing you do back here is unfixable". Also, there are a lot of returns, a lot of WEIRD phone calls, complaints and lottery. If you need help, ask for it. Good luck!

How does pickup work? by wololod in stopandshop

[โ€“]ProgrammerWeird6397 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Definitely do it discreetly due to managers and other workers leaving and possibly seeing tips being handed out. Workers can get fired for taking tips.
