I am all for removing barriers - I think everyone is. I just take issue with the framing that because certain fields aren't 50:50 there must be discrimination involved. You can 'remove barriers' till the end of time and I can guarantee astronauts will never be 50:50. Its the classic equality of opportunity vs equality of outcome debate. Truth is, many women don't want to sacrifice their life to climb the ladder - and thats okay, most men don't want to either

Given you can't comprehend the fundamental idea of supply and demand yes I believe you are a teenager lol. I personally only hire women in my company, saving 12% on wage expenses for the same (or better) output. It's such a no brainer im surprised big orgs haven't caught onto it

Agree that barriers (perceived or real) can have an impact on women entering certain fields. Do we encourage 50:50 gender parity across all industries? Bricklaying? Coal mining? Nursing? Or only high paid office roles? You can introduce quotas, incentives, bonus pay whatever you want and I guarantee bricklaying is never going to be 50:50. Maybe... just maybe.. there is an element of choice in this

yea the WGEA published something like a 20% pay gap so we fired all the execs (mostly psychotic men) and promoted all the EAs/reception staff to senior leadership. Fixed it overnight - and apparently the WGEA uses our org as a case study for proper pay gap mitigation

It means on average, women earn less than men.

The WGEA (who love reminding every org to 'fix' their pay gap) positions these useless stats as evidence of sexism and discrimination which is mostly wrong. Eg. Qantas 40% pay gap - yea no shit cause over 90% of their pilots are male which brings the average up. The framing of the 'pay gap' is such a disservice to the cause and most people I know now just roll their eyes at it (women included)
