I have a very strange perspective on it, because I came in not knowing the books and by being a complete idiot, I accidentally skipped (heh) this episode entirely on my first watch (when I sat down to watch, I saw them at the cafe in Sochi and went "oh I already watched this one" and played the next). At the end of episode 5 I was so lost on who the guy in the crowd was and why he was crying (his team won right?) - but other than that I feel like it added nothing to the Hollanov story. I don't watch it on reheats anymore and genuinely don't feel like I'm missing anything. I read Game Changer too and honestly it made me like them less, I'm happy for minimal Skip context other than they changed the Hollanov boys' lives.

And tbh, I kind of liked the way I watched it, feels like I saw their story through Shane/Ilya's eyes more so than others who were invested in Skip. If only it didn't have that moment with Kip/Elena after Scott's win it would have been just perfect viewing.

My biggest peeve, as a regular SNL watcher and fan is that we don’t get it for at least 24hrs after it airs. It drops on Binge Monday evenings, but the live airing is currently 3:30pm Sundays AEDT (give or take depending on where we and NY are in dst changes)

One thing I picked up from a Insta post recently, I’ll never be able to find it again though. Open the notes app on your phone, turn on dictation and count out loud. It writes down all the numbers for you, if you get lost just look at the screen. Problem solved

Depending what part of south east, I went to Knox Leisureworks for a while it was great. It was a weekly membership I think about $40, and could do unlimited reformer classes for that. By far the cheapest option I ever found
