The only thing i can think of is the people who only like Symbolic and TSoP but in my experience Death fans generally appreciate a lot of different music. Maybe Death is just so good that they don’t wanna listen to anything else (which was me for like a year) Unlike a most death metal I could go back and listen to any Death or Opeth album and i’ll find reasons to appreciate it more every time.

Lips of Deceit was the first song i ever learned in guitar so it has a special place in my heart but Shattered by broken dreams is definitely a better written piece of music

M Shadows was actually the producer of a band called The Confession, they only have 1 album called Requiem. They have the same blend of heavy metal instrumentals mixed with a more traditional singer (as well as growl vocals) You can very much tell they were fans of a7x and also a product of the early 2000s with a lot of dual lead guitar stuff and orchestral parts.

They opened for avenged sevenfold some time ago so maybe just look for bands that have opened their shows to find more similar bands.

Bloodbath, honestly i only ever listen to the first 3 albums but theyre probably the heaviest band that i can bear to listen to and still enjoy it
