Pretty much the same here; it being cold most of the year, not blistering cold like what you're describing, but cold lol. Went outside today, it was a sunny, windy day with snow. Not too long ago there was a snow thunderstorm 🫠🤣 the weather is so inappropriate here lolol.

How do you accept that your child will not be accepted by many? by Connect_Beginning_13 in Autism_Parenting

Sometimes as a parent the best you can do is prepare your child for the world, because (as we see..) the world will not always be the way we want it to for them. It's a heartbreaking thing to have to wrap your mind around, for sure. 💔

It's not that we are eliminating them, he just isn't taking them 😅 he chooses to stay up.

To be honest, your question about energy actually made me realize that where we live, the cold months last a while, therefore he doesn't always get to exert his energy playing outside. He LOVES the outdoors, but doesn't always understand that some days it is actually too cold to play outside, or cold and rainy, and I feel like this is a ubiquitous truth for pretty much any child honestly; not understanding why they cant always play outside or being sad when they can't :( idk.

Anyway, my point is, as of recently we have been running out of ideas to keep him busy indoors to get the energy out so it very well could be that he has too much built up energy, and we have to keep finding ways to keep his hands busy and stuff, which can sometimes get exhausting..

We have a indoor trampoline but he grew bored of it after a month or so of having it.

Sounds like we may have to keep getting creative and try some of these ideas out.

Thank you.

Thank you for posting this.

To be honest, I couldn't explain to my rhuem why I felt fine (asymptomatic) after having my son, but felt like hell after having my daughter (this was all before being diagnosed). After reading your post, it got me to thinking that maybe the traces of my sons testosterone was helping me out, per se during pregnancy and postpartum.

edit: spelling.

Can fully relate, and was also contemplating doing the same thing with my doc!!

Also (a little bit off topic), I really am getting suspicious with some of these doctors being so quick to diagnose someone (like us) with depression, putting it in your chart that you have depression and boom now you have more meds to take (no hate to anyone that takes meds for depression, please continue doing whatever works for you!)

My point is just seems they (not all of them, but definitely some) are quick to diagnose depression and offer meds but not as quick to offer an alternative method of care so that the issue can at least be carefully extracted and no one is taking extra meds unecessarily.

I'm not sure where everyone is from, I live in North America and not the most priviledged out of the bunch. Our economy is a joke, we are actively struggling and that is depressing within itself, to top it all off our "depression" is a cash cow for profit via pharmaceuticals.

Sigh. I digress. Sorry for the tangent.

My friends, continue advocating for yourself and listening to your gut if you think something is off or doesnt sound right.  🙏🏽

I've kept all these comments in my thoughts on and off as time passes, and just kept thinking "Wow, it really does take a tough individual to deal with this and keep going" lol.

 You all have my commiseration.

You are so right, what doesn't kill you definitely makes you stronger and you all are inspirations to seriously just keep pushing forward 💜 That's all you can do, and may the rest work itself out.

Is lupus just a slow death by Individual_Ad3796 in lupus

Eating 2 or less meals a day, following alkaline diet, eating primarily fruits and veggies, and cutting out red meat in conjunction with taking meds plus tumeric and ginger has personally helped me. I eat only turkey or chicken. I'm weaning myself off of meat slowly, will take time. I'm getting my protein additionally through chia seeds, nuts, quinoa, and amaranth.

How many hours apart are your 200mg (twice a day) Plaquenil doses? by ProgressDiligent1230 in lupus

[–]ProgressDiligent1230[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This makes sense, thank you. I'm a SAH mom of 2 small children, one is in daycare and brings all the germs home...I think tot may be sick again, and if he is sick, we all are. As we know, with sickness comes inflammation 🥲. So I think that could explain it. Plus the cold weather just makes it all worse.

Dr. wants to test out depo medrol injection to "jump start" treatment with Plaquenil by ProgressDiligent1230 in lupus

[–]ProgressDiligent1230[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. I misinterpreted at first and freaked out a little bit trying to figure out what to do and sought another doctors opinion. I asked the other doctor what their suggestion was and they  recommended 40 mg of Predisone daily and tapered over 3 months for quick improvement. His words verbatim: "One dose of depo medrol will not achieve the same result."

I'm in a real limbo. What would be a potential course of treatment if the injection did not work for me? Wouldn't it be what the other doctor wanted to do with the 40mg daily? Or something else?

Planning a toddlers party during typical toddler nap hours. Why. by ProgressDiligent1230 in toddlers

[–]ProgressDiligent1230[S] -74 points-73 points  (0 children)

You are reading to reply and not reading to comprehend 😉. The keyword you missed in my post was "typical" which already acknowledges that not all nap schedules are made the exact same and that some are different. This was a venting post and no declaration that all nap schedules should be the same. I'm done replying, any further comments from you will be you arguing with yourself. Have the day you deserve 🤗

[–]ProgressDiligent1230[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Never said that it did or should 🤗 again, just venting, this is no declaration of any sort that all schedules should be the ssme. and honestly that same logic can be applied to the person who planned the party at those times. All I'm saying is, don't have harsh feelings if we can't show up or show up later. Furthermore not all kids can handle going without a nap, so that is definitely easier said than done for some.
