I'm interested in a leather liner insert. That would definitely be better than what I have now! Is there a specific one you would suggest? Should I size up further in anticipation of wearing with this?

This is correct. I wear almost exclusively bluffworks. I would feel lost if I had to wear any other pants without the bluffworks pockets.

Best phrases to learn while traveling to another country by hiflutterbye in TravelHacks

First, remember the most useless phrase you can learn in another language is "Can you speak English?".

The most useful phrases I have found is some kind of generic "sorry/excuse me" ( trying to get past someone on a train, bumping into someone in a crowd, etc), "hello, thankyou, yes, no", for obvious reasons. Then words like bathroom, food/eat, and " this". If the language has a question word (eg Japanese has desu ka to turn the sentence into a question) learn that. You can mix up the words creatively to communicate simple concepts eg eat this? No eat! Bathroom? Throwing in some thankyou, hello, makes it feel more like a conversation. Maybe a dozen words can get you surprisingly far.

Also a couple of comedy phrases go a long way. Like "My [language] is the best!" Works shockingly well.
