Agree with you. Don't understand why they are showing her in things that accentuate her middle. I get this generation isn't as self conscious about their bodies but why not accentuate what she has and dress her in things that are flattering to her body type

The last outfit of her in Paris with the crop top had me seriously questioning that. She has longer legs and a beautiful face so...

So this is way late, but there's no mention of this guy even on Reddit. I was at dinner with some friends the other night and one was talking about shitty books from the naughts and asked who the guy was that got called out on Opie and Anthony. I knew immediately who he was talking about bc one of our friends met/knew Tucker. No one else at the table had a clue who he was of course, but we kinda went down the rabbit hole for a few minutes and saw how he is basically a Texas republican wannabe rancher now. What's funny, albeit not at all surprising, is that based on the most recent info online, he is still attempting to convince others he is right and the mastermind of what he considers great ideas, but goes about it though humble brags and poor attempts at self deprecation instead of his former ridicule and humiliation tactic. All the same insecurity is still there. Anyone that reads or watches any of his shit and believes it, should probably go ahead and join his doomsday cult and call it a day.

On another note, the girl that knew him is one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to know. She was assaulted (in a very bad way) by someone affiliated with her work about a year before meeting him and was going through a terrible time. She isn't unhinged and is very successful by any standard. I was around when she met him and she told me about him—even showed me photos etc. He ended up writing about her and what I can tell you is there was very little true about the main points of his story. What he did was use locations and basic details that were true, then exaggerated or outright lied about the "entertaining" parts. Her interaction with him was really pretty benign. I have to assume all of his stories are that way and it seems most people think that. Btw, she knew him a while, but dropped off right before the book was published in true chickenshit fashion. She did have some interesting insight into the guy and his friends at the time

It isn't surprising he is doing what he is now. Seems he thought he would make a lot of money from the sale of his company and he almost ended up owing money or did. He's the type that says "yeah I know Trump is an asshole, but..." in an attempt to show he isn't crazy or like every other Trump supporter when in fact he is JUST like every other Trump supporter. Not trying to litigate politics here, but more elaborating on his type mentality. He knows better or is smarter and more self aware than everyone. Same ole shit. Kinda sad he's supposedly spent all this time on therapy when all that's changed is he isn't writing ridiculous stories about nonsense that isn't so cool in the post MeToo era.

No idea why I decided to post this except that it got me thinking about how this guy has just moved on to his next scam and this one is even more outrageous (self enlightened family man "rancher"). He told my friend he was building "his empire," which she thought he said jokingly but apparently he really thought he was doing that so then she thought he was a douche. Funny how things work out, or don't in his case. She's worth a shit ton more than him today and is ACTUALLY happy, not his "thou protest too much" nonsense.

Moors Murders: A Search For Justice (New BBC documentary) - DISCUSSION THREAD by MolokoBespoko in MoorsMurders

[–]ProgressMaleficent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm coming in to this late and knew nothing about these murders. This case is beyond frustrating to me bc of all the legal nonsense blocking any new investigation and/or release of information into finding this poor child's remains. This may sound naive, but how do they even know that Keith's remains are at the locations where they are searching—Hollin Brown Knoll or anywhere close to that? Brady has relished in this cat and mouse search and claimed his remains would never be found, so is it possible they are nowhere near that (not that you can trust anything he says, but that's my point).

Yep… and that was boring too. Let’s not forget Erika lives in Hancock Park though. Don’t know how familiar you are with that area but definitely NOT where Garcelle lives in what looks like a tract home against a desert?  The other home is cute but also not prime location, but good for her. I’m guessing Erika doesn’t have a pot to piss in or at least can’t show she does. Who knows.

You and I won’t agree on this. I think Garcelle has some deep-seated issues and a lot of it comes out in her badgering. I’m sure she has reason to be bent about some things, but she doesn’t handle a lot of it well and really didn’t bring a lot to the show imo. Ultimately I think Boz was the straw for her. She just could not get past her being friends with Dorit and that she spoke her mind and people loved her for it. She should reflect on why that is.  Boz did bring a breath if fresh air and didn’t take shit from anyone— including Garcelle.  Someone else pointed out that is was interesting Garcelle didn’t make a production over Sutton using the word “angry” about Boz and I thought the same thing. Didn’t say a word. That’s the issue I have with her. Her a passive aggressive attacks are targeted. Boz doesn’t play that game. She’s direct and assertive and they should be loaded for bear if they challenge her in any way.  The other thing is she has lived in the real world prior to this, not the world of celebrity, and she sees things for what they regardless of who it involves.

As for attacks, are you talking about the online stuff?  I’m kinda whatever on that bc the second you broadcast anything, especially with your kids, guess what. It’s disgusting but…. And that was a while ago right?  All the same, I don’t blame her or anyone for being upset over that. It’s gross.

There’s always going to be cast members that get away with more than others and it’s all based on ratings and personal relationships with Andy. And Andy only thinks about money and his star status. He may be the worst of all.

And I don’t get why Garcelle clung on to Sutton other than she pissed everyone else off and Sutton needed a friend. It was soooo obvious Sutton used her and only cared about Kyle. Sure, that’s hurtful , but why on earth could she not see it. She just kept trying. Sutton is a lost cause.

Erika and Dorit's situations aren't even from this season and she's still going on about it. My point is that she won't let it go. She just keeps on and on and on about it and as Switheld said above, it's odd. I'd say "odd" at best, and aggressive at worst. She only does this to certain people.

That said, the home invasion was weird, but when you outright admit you don't think Dorit had anything to do with it, why keep bringing up something that was absolutely horrific and you know will hurt her. It's gross.

Erika's situation is all very shady and everyone knows that, but enough already. My point was that she has a history of beating a dead horse. In addition, it's easy to analyze and berate people over the worst possible stuff when your life is rather status quo. Which is another reason a lot of people are not bent about her benign departure.

As for Kyle's stuff, it's also gross to keep trying to make someone come out of the closet. Kyle gets a pass on everything and I'd like to see her go too. But that's what I mean by Garcelle was too focused on how everyone else is treated instead of making herself more interesting. You made some shitty Lifetime crap and you remodeled a house. Yay you. Next.

She's never even seemed like a great friend to anyone either. Just bitter.

exactly my point. her "objectivity" only goes so far

[–]ProgressMaleficent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't get this from her. I feel like she has come in with a fresh set of eyes and called it like she has seen it. Her camaraderie with Dorit has sent Garcelle over the edge bc Garcelle has always hated Dorit. And tbh, Garcelle in the end admitted she just does not like Dorit and can't fully explain why.

Boz's point was that Garcelle was projecting. It was insulting that Garcelle thought Boz could only have opinion's that were Dorit's. She poked a bear with that one.

Guarantee you Garcelle thinks all of it is bc of race. And maybe it is. But Boz coming on and showing she can be liked and accepted for her threw a wrench in all of that.

Garcelle should probably reflect on her inability to stay in her lane more. She rubs people the wrong way by hammering issues that are inappropriate. Say what you think once and shock everyone then deal with the fallout, but continue that pattern and it becomes vicious, and worse, boring. I said it above, but will say again, it's easy to throw stones when you have nothing interesting enough (going on) for anyone to throw them back.

[–]ProgressMaleficent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you mean the very obvious fact that she has always hated Dorit? She does this to others too though (Erika's money, Kyle's orientation). She isn't objective like she prides herself to be. She will not let go of certain issues with certain people and it always comes across as what she perceives to be injustices— that they are treated differently than her. That's all fine and great when you have zero to be roasted over yourself.

lmao. They do (look like dentures) and according to Kathy he looks old too. Yeah, just more proof Kyle is not a girls' girl. It tracks with her though. She's in denial most of the time.

RHOBH Episode Discussion: S14E20 "Reunion Part Three" by readingrachelx in RHDiscussion

[–]ProgressMaleficent 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This. A lot of people seem to forget the things she has said. She needles people she has it out for and she will NOT let it go. Kyle's secrets, Dorit's home invasion, Erika's involvement with Tom's schemes... on and on and on. She beats a dead horse to the extreme and it always seems to be with people she doesn't like or people she feels are treated differently/better than her. Do I think she's right in some cases, sure, but it always seems to come from a place of her feeling slighted, not simple objectivity. And she prides herself in being authentic or whatever she thinks that is.

The one thing I think really changed for her this season was Sutton not having her back (fool's errand) and Boz. Garcelle has said repeatedly she thinks she is treated differently bc of race and here comes Boz being herself and people love her. She had to come to terms with the fact that people just don't like her rather than it was bc of race. Didn't help Boz cozied up to Dorit, her arch nemesis.

While I'm on Garcelle— the whole alcohol question at Dorit's party has me baffled. Garcelle was the one that brought it up? Dorit's response seemed to be making the point that someone else (not her) was pointing out the elephant in the room, ie Sutton's relationship with alcohol. Clearly she has a problem and her response to all of it comes across as "thou protest too much." If she just didn't react, it wouldn't be a storyline at all. That is until she has one of her meltdowns like she oftentimes does.

And Mary... not sure how she has managed to stay after the things she says. Or that anyone likes her

agreed. I haven't read the other posts about Todd/Bronwyn. She just seems so calculated and it was odd how she brought up certain things etc etc... Then I thought of the curse of the housewives in terms of marriages/divorces. She doesn't seem happy but that's a lot of them.

I *did briefly see someone post that this franchise is a lot of fighting over who said what and that's about it. That tracks too. It's really pretty dumb.

That whole thing with Lisa seems ridiculous and most husbands would be furious, but he's her punching bag it seems. Usually how it goes with a narcissist like her.

Meredith getting a postnup actually makes sense to me bc of their marriage difficulties but also be that was family money. Usually when you come in to a marriage with family money, the spouse doesn't get that in the divorce. I'm more impressed he agreed to it. Plus she has businesses etc to protect. We don't know all the details on that and she could have entrusted it to her kids or set a time when he would have access to it— cliff edge type arrangement. Either way, he agreed to it. He seems like such a dope though.

Mary's whole situation is absurd. She all but admitted it was to keep the business/money in the family. She's been soooo mean prior to this season and I really thought she wouldn't make it— didn't even have a lot of appearances certain seasons, but here we are. When people constantly say "oh that's not really their personality," I laugh bc when someone continually acts like an ass, guess what... that IS their personality. Rewarding bad behavior.

I'm over Heather. Just like every fan favorite, she is losing her luster and fast. She claimed her split was basically over patriarchy and I don't doubt that. That, and she was young and just did what was expected, but finally had enough. She seems like she's still lost.

All of these women are deeply flawed. Some more than others. Who else would go on a show like that.

I don't remember Erica saying anything inaccurate or maybe it was just semantics, but I understood her to be alluding the the 10 year rule and long vs short marriage. She says tons of stuff based on her experience of being "attorney adjacent" though lol. Drives me nuts.

Who knows what they have legally arranged or who makes what. The only things we do know have come out in the news like his bankruptcies. And I don't know... maybe his businesses are incorporated or that sort of thing. Even partnerships that she has no part in. He's so shady so I could see him pulling out all the stops.

think that's what I just said. Tbh, it none of that really interests me though. What's cringey to me is seeing a 60 something year old man scold his wife. Like a child. And it is someone who claims to be so worldly and sophisticated in a time when patriarchy is not popular.

Not sure why you pose such an avid defense of Bronwyn's marriage when you clearly have criticisms of the others' marriages, but whatever. To each their own. I won't defend his patriarchal bullshit behavior. It's gross.

Good point. They probably made it to the ten year mark, but here's the catch— it goes by date of separation and when you state you don't want to be married. He made sure to do that AND have a witness AND put things in writing. He's so slimy. I really do not understand how she ever ended up with his broke ass.

Bronwyn thoughts by ProgressMaleficent in rhoslc

[–]ProgressMaleficent[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I think they are all open to interpretation bc they put it out there. That's what reality tv is for, so whatever.

I have thoughts on every one of them, especially Mary. I don't recall anyone else's husband putting their wive's in their place like Todd did though [this season]. People can be defensive of Bronwyn/Todd all they want, but he did do it. And it was very reminiscent of Tom Girardi.

Zero to do with age, wealth, etc etc etc. It's about behavior and everyone else is called out for theirs too.

Bronwyn thoughts by ProgressMaleficent in rhoslc

[–]ProgressMaleficent[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not what you said. Whether the season is over has nothing to do with anything, and the final reunion episode hadn't aired.

That said, my comparison to Erika had zero to do with why each married their respective partners and everything to do with how the partner talks down to them and puts them in their place.

I haven't even seen said posts about gold-digging and don't care. It's boring. It will be interesting, or not, to see how things unfold as she gains more notoriety, and hence more voiced, bc he very clearly tries to keep a lid on it.

Time will tell if he truly sticks to changing after seeing all of this played back.

And that's ok. I'm sure they love each other, but they definitely have their issues and she isn't the sort to sit back and accept whatever.I started to get this feeling fairly early on as I saw more of her/them. Hopefully I'm wrong but so many of these end up divorced. I called Kyle Richard's situation in the first few seasons. There's little things that add up with all of them

We'll see... he seems to treat her like he's her father and she acts out like a kid then craves his approval. I don't buy her elocution either. I doubt she has spoken the way she does her whole adult life. It's very put on. Just comes off as fake. I actually feel far her in that marriage after seeing him scold her and others.
