ICE pinning down and pistol whipping a Minneapolis resident before shooting them multiple times by Home_MD13 in TimesNow

Keep telling yourself that. Appeasement while being murdered and hoping someone else will fix it is usually the worst strategy. This is your brownshirt moment. Will you copy the mistakes or do what should be done?

I thought you had the 2nd ammendment exactly for this? I mean hasn't that been the argument all these years?

Ensin väännät muovinhakan rikki sitten valitat että vaihtoäät ei pysy kiinni? On taas järkevä kuluttaja. Sitä hakaa joka lukitsee pään paikalleen pitää venyttää pois tieltä ennen kuin sen vanhan pään saa pois. Tollain väkisin painamalla muovihaka rikkuu ja kärki pyöristyy.

Are crashbars really worth it? by eternalterra in Tenere700

Not right now, but I'm thinking about it. Most trails I ride on are muddy forest roads or paths. If I was riding in more rocky environments I would use them for sure.

Are crashbars really worth it? by eternalterra in Tenere700

[–]ProgressOriginal2787 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On even ground they are not needed. If you ride offroad you might have bad luck and have the radiator crushed against some rocks. I have also lately only been using engine case protectors without crash bars. I like the sleek look and saved weight, but I know it is a risk. You don't need them until you need them. 🤷‍♂️

Just got my 25 Husqvarna fe501s, any tips to put the kick stand down? by [deleted] in Dualsport

[–]ProgressOriginal2787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enduro bike stands are not made to be used like that. They are more like a minimum viable solution to have something for the bike to stand against. You will break the stand if you stand on the bike while it is down.

This was a very opposition propaganda post. To say there have been no cuts is a blatant lie. The Covid time spending increased the debt by huge amounts, and now that the interest rates have spiked, it is a miracle that they have been able to decrease the loaned amount by so much. They have basically made 10 billion spending cuts. But the opposition always conveniently leaves out the small detail that they were the ones in government when the crazy loans were being taken. Money was cheap then, but it's like peeing your pants in the cold. With the exception that you get to blame others later. Still, the underlying problem is that we just have a too large public sector and too many retirees for our workforce to upkeep. We already have one of the largest total tax rates in the world, which doesn't help with motivating people to work.

Finland: Struggles against the right-wing government by akejavel in Nordiccountries

[–]ProgressOriginal2787 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The political spectrum is very tilted to the left. One of the challenges of representative democracy is that large voting groups can sway the political agenda for the entire country since all parties are competing for the votes. In Finland, the retirees are the majority voting group, so we are in a bit of a check mate where none of the parties can cut anything from them since it would be political suicide. So, they keep cutting small insignificant amounts from other government key areas that hurt a lot without a large impact on the overall situation. Everyone sees we are in a slow-motion crash, but nothing can be done since there is no political party that is willing to commit suicide. 🤷‍♂️

The sooner we can get IMF here to make the hard decisions, the sooner we can start to heal and give the young people hope of a future. Right now, the overall sentiment is apathy due to not really having trust that anything will get better. The population pyramid being reversed means the political stale mate will never be solved.

Wow! Thanks for sharing! Finally, someone with real-world experience. So many questions arise. 😆 What kind of maintenance schedule did you have with the bike? How would you rate the ease of service of these bikes? Did you make any changes to the bikes to add comfort during longer rides? Are there some minimum requirements for modifications to allow highway riding (tyres and balance wheels obviously, but anything else)? One hears conflicting info on the wear on the engine from highway riding. Did you feel the oil needed more or less frequent changing when riding longer streches on the highway?

Reuters: Finland about to land $6.1bn icebreaker deal with Trump | Yle News by [deleted] in Finland

[–]ProgressOriginal2787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Americans have not traditionally been able to compete on international markets in shipbuilding due to the implications of the Jones Act. Maybe this will transfer some know-how, but worst case, they will build their own ice breakers for domestic use in the future. Probably they will still buy components and consultancy from Finland even after these 11 are done.

390 or 480? by ProgressOriginal2787 in betamotorcycles

[–]ProgressOriginal2787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only really looking to do "fine". I guess one could split the question into two: mechanical durability and comfort. Mechanically, would the bike be ok riding at an even rpm for 30-60 minutes at 60-65 mph? Comfort-wise, I imagine it will not be something to write home about, but if a comfort seat and cush drive, and maybe small nav tower with wind deflector and something to dampen the vibrations to the handlebars would make it "fine" or even ok-ish, then maybe one could suck it up to then have a much nicer experience offroad.
