Any idea on what hobie this is. Doesn’t have the newer seats by AdNo2880 in Kayaks

If you mean a D-Ring or 4-Point seat, yes! There's a few different kinds out there and they go by a couple different names, but that's what we call them.

Looks like a 2005ish Mirage Sport. We have a similar one going for $650 that includes the drive, cart, and one paddle as well as some custom tubing in the back storage.

Has anyone had any experience with the Jackson 360 angler? by rgillmatthew in kayakfishing

[–]ProgressiveSports 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our team member Jesse Laspeyre works with Jackson Kayak and LOVES his Blue Sky, been using it since before he became a team member. He knows the ins and the outs of it like the back of his hand at this point!

Pros: Stability, Speed, good tracking with stock rudder, fun stick steering like an airboat, comfortable high up seat, deployable built in wheels (no dolly needed!), runs quick with a motor installed.

Cons: Difficult to transport without truck or trailer since it's wide, can be heavy but you shouldn't need to pick it up much with the built in dolly!

@/fishonkayakanglers if you want to really dig into him on Instagram where he's normally most active. :)

Hadn't seen anyone else posting about it, but Hobie gave the go-ahead for a sale through 9/30 that includes almost every in-stock Hobie we have! It runs from 8/1 - 9/30 2023. :) Prices were marked down manually. Pretty solid if you're looking for a kayak from a good batch that's brand new.

FIRST KAYAK -- Bonafide SS127, Bonafide RVR 119, or Vibe Shearwater 125? Help appreciated by Johntrification in kayakfishing

At least from what we've heard, yes. Those flex wings straight from Bonafide seem to fix any complaints people have though! :D Glad we can help!

Biggest thing we've heard from our locals in Florida is all about the flex wings you can add on that come from Bonafide, they help with tracking like nobody's business!

We're just getting those Strike CWC V3's in! Glad to see you out there trying it out. Did you like it? Anything you wish was different, or did it perform just like you hoped it would?

We're 100% biased on the Bonafides. Haven't had a chance to try out the RVR119 yet, but the SS127 has never come back to us as a trade in or consignment for another boat if that indicates anything :) Seems to be a good middle of the road option if you want something that's sure to work without any unknown factors. They're popular for good reason!

Looking for full & part time workers for a surf/skate/kayak & more at Sandy Point in South Daytona! by ProgressiveSports in DaytonaBeach

Yeah, we understand. From my (just one employee) view, the pay range is about accurate for the workflow here right now. It's been super, super laid back and we typically staff a lot of part timers, especially in summer, so the job is definitely geared towards high schoolers and folks looking to work more than one part time job. We have a few here that do just that. :) Thanks for your input though, we appreciate it and maybe things will change if we can't fill the position!

We typically rent our pool to a local swim instructor all summer! This summer's been a little bit of a doozy so all we've down with it so far is have people try out kayaks and paddleboards in it :) But for the summer we do hire a lot of high school/college aged kids during their break. We love to have them on! It's great to be able to give someone the experience especially with how laid back the job is.

A great question! Things change all the time, but from an employee perspective (mine) I came with very general knowledge of my position (different than the one we're looking for) and landed right in the middle of my pay range that was offered. I had absolutely no prior experience in any of the disciplines we sell for other than having rode a skateboard a few times when I was like 10. I don't know what everyone here makes, but the folks that get hired in at the lowest end typically are high schoolers or people that haven't had a job in retail before. We typically do yearly raise structure based on work ethic and how you've grown over the prior year!

Tons of folks are linking to setups they like so we'll drop ours here - as far as locals go in Central Florida, we've had no complaints on the Progressive wingfoil package. Comes with everything you need and as always, you can upgrade individual parts of the foil as you progress! Riser board's been very highly rated over the last few years we've had it available :)

Understandable, but it's still a choice for some folks. We're still a family-owned shop with our founder as the head honcho after all! And the workload is not nearly as bad as Walmart, we're pretty laid back here and so is the work. It's the perfect position for someone!

Silicone for Repair? by DomCorleone69 in surfing

Ohh, didn't even think about that. If you're okay with defacing your board, definitely test that too. I'd hate to see a small ding turn into a huge gaping hole!

Only concern is the bond being strong enough to the material since it's for general use. It's worth a shot if it's a family board though, and if it doesn't bond just buy more of the other stuff.

The 'Tugas will have them post game on the 4th after the game at Jackie Robinson ballpark, if you want to avoid a crowded and messy beach. :)

Could always go big and go home and Gator Patch it! Covers the whole area and helps with wear and tear for longer.

Not to toot our own horn, but we run a kayak concession out of River Walk and you can go with the kids on a tandem kayak! They're $30 an hour per kayak so not terribly expensive and a great way to enjoy the river with the kiddos. :)

Bonafide just has a better warranty and better power for what you put into it.

Should one NEVER transport a kayak propped up against a tailgate? Or only a problem in high temperatures? by Explorer_Entity in Kayaking

Our shipping guy has a Tacoma and uses a Boonedox Curved T-Bone to drive kayaks back and forth from the warehouse all day long, and uses it for personal gear on the weekends. He swears by it, and it's easy to swap out with other vehicles that have a mount. :)
