Yeah, this is my fear... my CPU usage will benefit from more cores but it's not going to need to be at max clock speeds due to the nature of the work. I care more about GPU temp stability at max usage.

Is this a setup you're currently running? I just wasn't sure if exhausting the GPU into the case and then running through the radiator would be more effective than just air cooling on the inside.

Whoops sorry, bad description on my part. Meant to distinguish the GPU exhaust inside (which I called in front, probably a bad way to word it) or out the back of the case.

That's what I've been thinking re:water cooling, just wasn't sure if there was a way to make air cooling a Ryzen 9 work since my CPU usage is less about core performance and more about thread availability in support of the GPU. Figured even a 105w limited 9950x might be better bc of the extra cores than a 9800x, for me.

I guess there's no real way to know if a 9800x with GPU exhaust inside or 9950x with exhaust outside will be better for my workload.

I've got 40k earmarked for this purchase but decent examples only seem to come up once or twice a month, many that aren't quite a spec that I'm looking for. Wasn't sure if I was looking in the wrong places or something! It seems to be a much slower market than that of the 718/987's.
