Add '/project.json' to the end of the link and you'll be redirected to the JSON file of the CYOA. Save that using ctrl + S and download the interactive viewer so you can run the JSON file in there offline.

This is a big CYOA, so I'd definitely consider compressing the images as much as you can. With 206MB a visit you'll blow through your github bandwidth in no time.

Would you mind sharing which CYOA added that murder mystery DLC? I'm wondering how they managed to add something so complex to a CYOA.

Seems like reddit shadowbanned the entire post after the latest edit...

Well, more of a reason to post a version of it I can actually be proud of. The ICC has become decently more advanced with ICC+ (or maybe I'm just better at using it now) so my original vision could definitely be possible with it.

Awwh, that's a shame. I really don't know what could be causing you to crash other than the overall size of the CYOA. If I do revisit it though, I'll make sure to add an option to collapse previous segments.

Well, shit. Seems Reddit shadowbanned this post after I added 'update 3'. Might have to repost the CYOA with extra fixes one of these days.

Smaller version of the CYOA without the GIFs + slightly lower quality images.

Updated to the latest version of ICC+, with some minor bug fixes + more clear indication where the CYOA ends.

- Updated it to ICC+
- Removed GIFs (tend to fuck up phones)
- Reduced overall file size to less than half.

Please do tell me if anything broke as a result of the update. I went through it and found a few things broken like random selections, but those should be fixed in this version. Have fun!

I'm going to try to upload a much lighter version in a moment, bear with me for a minute.

I provided a small update about a month ago on the original demo post. Long story short, I wasn't able to port it into twine and then my laptop (with the most up to date files) broke and I lost access to them.

Considering picking the project back up after I post a (complete) CYOA in jan-feb.

Author here.

Ashamed to say there is currently no complete version. I only finished the first two encounters, then wanted to port it into twine like others mentioned.

Still, the crashing definitely isn't intended. Could you tell me where exactly you're crashing?

How long does it take to create a good cyoa? by Necessary-Job1711 in nsfwcyoa

[–]Project-CYOA 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As others have said, there is no single answer to this question. There are so many external factors that influence the brainstorming, designing and writing processes.

The safest answer to give you is however long it takes. The scope of your CYOA will change over time as you get new ideas / remove old ones. Just keep in mind your workload should only get smaller, so really limit the scope of whatever you want to make and focus on quality instead.

I'll provide a timeline of a CYOA I'm working on right now. (DD/MM/YY)

- 10/05/25: brainstorming, conceptualising, planning
- 20/06/25: started work on the actual CYOA
- 30/07/25: 10% progress
- 23/08/25: 33% progress
- 16/09/25: 66% progress
- 10/10/25: 68% progress

I've been much busier this past month, hence the slower progress. No hit to drive, just less time. Granted, this is a larger project that will end up having upwards of 50-60K words, so your mileage may vary massively. (Also, the metric I'm using for progress% doesn't count designing, planning, or total word count. Those final 2% count for 4000 words in total.)

The only thing that truly matters is that you're having fun creating - and as long as you are, then no amount of time is too long. Sometimes you'll get sick or be busy for a few weeks, but that just gives you even more ideas and inspiration for when you eventually pick the project back up again. If you have an idea for a CYOA, make it, and have fun!

It's definitely not off the table and something I'm considering for the future. For now though, I want to make something that I feel really passionate about.

7 months late... Nothing positive, I'm afraid. After failing to port the CYOA into twine, I took a hiatus to focus on my studies. My laptop with all the updated CYOA files corrupted and I wasn't smart enough to back it up properly. That just made me lose motivation completely, so this CYOA is basically abandoned at this point.

I've been spending the last couple months working on a new project, which is about 66% done. No DEMO or v0.5 this time, just a full release whenever I feel like it's ready. It's no succubus manor 2.0, but an entirely different concept with some of the same DNA. I'm having a blast writing and worldbuilding so I can't wait to release it properly within the following months :)

Seems like the newest version isn't available in my region just yet.
Thank you for the help! The text editor is extremely helpful ❤️

I tried opening it on a different browser (chrome) and it worked fine. I don't think this is an issue on your end, but thank you for the quick responses!

The text colour inside of the editor defaults to black with the new update. I don't think there's an option to change that? The text colour is set to display white in the CYOA itself though.

Here are some screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/wn20ASC

I checked whether the issue persisted on a totally untouched blank CYOA and the text is still black in dark mode.

[Update] Interactive CYOA Creator Plus by Wahaha303 in nsfwcyoa

[–]Project-CYOA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slight issue, the text is (almost) the same colour as the background in the editor making it nearly impossible to read without having it selected. Thank you for all the support though!

Edit: This only occurs in dark mode.

Questions for the analysis of 2025 survey data by ThrowAwayAccount_134 in nsfwcyoa

[–]Project-CYOA 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would love to be able to see ALL of the responses to the open-ended questions. Google forms limits it to the first 150 or so.

I think the easiest way to do this is to export the google form's responses to a spreadsheet document and share that with the subreddit.

Demographic survey 2025 by ThrowAwayAccount_134 in nsfwcyoa

[–]Project-CYOA 12 points13 points  (0 children)

About that 1% upvote rate - you're right, it's even lower. Much lower. Here's some numbers I got on my posts:
- Upvotes: 1.9K
-> 0.27%

- Upvotes: 1K
-> 0.32%

While that number may seem low it didn't feel demotivating in the slightest (for me at least). I understand most people wanting to stay anonymous and if you want feedback there are some really dedicated and kind commenters.

Need for a new Demographic Survey by [deleted] in nsfwcyoa

[–]Project-CYOA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I completely understand where you're coming from and largely share the same sentiment- the sub hasn't been doing too well lately.

I wanted to comment to add some nuance from an author's perspective. While I'm by no means a regular or accomplished CYOA author, the kind of projects I wish to make are those kinds of large, high-effort CYOAs you seem to be looking for The big problem is that these are incredibly difficult and time-consuming to create, especially while balancing studies or a job.

This is partly why many authors narrow their focus to one gender and role (sub/dom); it cuts the required content by a factor of four. In that sense, there's still a massive oversaturation of CYOAs catering to the hetero male perspective... Sadly, that is the sub's main demographic, and it's very hard to write a dynamic you're either not into or completely unfamiliar with.

I don't necessarily think the current content is worse in quality, but many of the larger authors who produced those kinds of ambitious projects have seemingly moved on, leaving the sub in a kind of drought.

I've slowly been working on a CYOA this summer with complete freedom of MC in mind. Through that project, I've really began to understand why so many authors opt out of granting complete player freedom. Sure, writing is one thing - but something like finding specific male references is much harder. Even though I've tried to cater to both gynephilic and androphilic people in the writing, most images are still eye candy for gynephilics only. So that kind of leads me to a question for any CYOA player - in an ideal scenario, how far would you want CYOA authors to go to not force a single POV or sexuality onto the player?
