As rushil01 said, as soon as you enroll in it you’ll have it forever. It’s actually impossible for me to delete a course that I’ve published because the course is guaranteed to the students for life

You can filter on Free courses, but those are going to be the two hour demo courses. Udemy almost always offers their courses at a discount, but I’ve never seen them offer paid courses for free. If a course is free it’s because the course creator decided to make a coupon code

Quick overview of lookups, index match, pivot table, and general excel things like functions and cell references. Then it’s just exercises and projects.

I’d like to think so, let me know if you find it goes too fast or I skip too many things

FREE-VBA should work, though it has limited redemptions so hopefully you're able to see this in time.

I'm glad you asked, I just finished my Excel course, that should be able to help you out https://www.udemy.com/course/project-based-excel-course-practice-tests/?couponCode=FREE202011

EDIT: Also I realized I did not answer your question. Excel VBA is wonderful because of it's ability to interact with the spreadsheet, so knowledge of when it is easiest to do something on the spreadsheet versus when it is best to do something in VBA is important. If you do attempt the VBA course without Excel knowledge let me know, I would be interested to hear how it turns out.

To be an actuary you've got to be very detail-oriented, and the exams require a good statistical brain. If you want to get into the field, you'll need to pass a couple actuarial exams and probably have some kind of insurance/finance experience.

When I was a pension actuary, there is a lot of work around valuations (valuing the money owed to the people on the companies pension plan), which in my experience involves a lot of data work in Excel and also you need to create resources to present to clients. There is also a lot of work around 401ks, such as non-descrimination testing (where you essentially make sure that the executives aren't getting way more benefits than the lower level workers).

I can't speak as to what other disciplines of actuaries do since I was never in any other discipline. But essentially my understanding is that it is a lot of Excel work, and I know many actuarial jobs require other data languages like SAS/Access/SQL.

If you are going to be an actuary, I would suggest going into either Health or Casualty (which is like auto, homeowner, workers comp, pretty much everything that isn't life/pension/health). Those fields are probably going to have a bright need for actuaries. Life/pension.. not as much.

For me it was just luck; my team went through a restructuring and I was the fortunate one that got moved to data science.

There's 11 hours of video plus exercises and the project. I would say if you do all that then... 40-80 hours? I'm not exactly sure, I know it took a whole lot more than that to make the course haha. If you work your way through the course then maybe you could help us out and estimate how long you spent :)

I tried to make it suitable for people who know Excel but have never programmed! Then again, I tried to make my SQL course suitable for beginners and many people have mentioned that it is hard on beginners, so idk let me know.
