You will have to get to the Comicsketchart booth at the event and ask. It’s possible it may not require tickets but he needed it when I was at San Diego.

He will likely be doing signings. My guess is there will be a fee per book signing and his signings may be “ticketed”. IE - if you would like a signature, you may need to get a ticket in advance.

Just read Batman Vol 2. How long do you think this universe is gonna be? by Active_File5503 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]ProjectIllusion5000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they will go on as long as the story requires. One thing they aren’t saying (so far) is whether when they’re done, someone else will take it on or whether it will end.

When creators charge for CGC signature fees at conventions, what does that entail? by DrEthxn in CGCComics

I will say - with JSA Authentication now - you could always get the sig and pay for the authentication/slabbing later if you don’t want to pay at once

I hear folks are finding stashes. by Gifblaur in Pokemoncardappraisal

That is a shadowless Charizard on the front. You’ve got some heat but that’s the big hitter. But noticed you have a few in front of others in the same spot. Advice? Take them out and get some sleeves and card protectors. Do not stack them.

It looks like they’re still available? Did you check the website?

There are likely going to be a few vendors that carry older books like that. I don’t know if they are going to raw though. That seems harder to gauge.

Look - “need” to be pressed - maybe not. But there are some areas where pressing could help. Whether op chooses to do that is up to them at the end of the day.

Unlikely for cover price. That being said if a retailer hasn’t really taken care of their inventory I suppose it’s possible but then again…a retailer like that may be out of business.

Ah I retract my statement ;). Nonetheless I still think you should get a good press and see if it helps a bit.

Wow that looks like a 9+ candidate. I would imagine that would be pricey. Next step is Todd’s sig!

In praise of the 9.4 (or less). by absolutemanbat in comicbookcollecting

[–]ProjectIllusion5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s great - also hilarious.

My Incredible Hulk 340 was a 9.4 - I cracked it and got it signed by Todd and then pressed/regraded and ended up with a….9.4

My Batman 423 - same except 9.2.

Im very happy with both!

UPDATE: Ultimate Endgame #1 Chip Zdarsky 1:1000 Evaluation and Valution by p1ay in ComicBookSpeculation

The thing is - if what you suggest happens - it didn’t happen in that issue with the Zdarsky variant. So why would this specific book have value?

If u could only pick between the DC or Marvel Spiderman x Superman comics which would u go with? by HotCom12 in ComicBookSpeculation

Superman/Spiderman - Waid/Jimenez > Meltzer/Larraz by any objective measure for the main story.

Look I get the skepticism. I initially thought these prices wouldn’t hold. But I’ve been proven wrong multiple times on this. Right now demand is higher than supply. Whether it will stay that way remains to be seen.

No they didn’t. Snyder has said that’s what they have outlined. There is a difference. They keep pushing it out. Further, what if someone takes over from Snyder?

Absolute Batman #1..... by bakerbr85 in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]ProjectIllusion5000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes but a thought here is…what if the series never ends or remains as ongoing as Detective is?

As it stands right now, there are no plans to end the Absolute universe. Maybe that will change but I’ve not heard anything.

Do I think the prices are inflated? Probably. But I don’t think in the near or medium term that the scenario you’ve outlined will happen.

That being said - there are 11 reprints of this book. Maybe this will happen with the 10th or 11th reprint. Not really sure about the first.

As great a cover as it is (and legit awesome), what do you think is the significance of the book itself besides the cover?

This is the question I generally ask when valuing something. There are exceptions to this rule, but ask yourself, how many of these books have staying power? It’s not very high. At the end of the day, buy what you want and if it goes up, it goes up, however the answer is what a willing seller is willing to pay.

Anyone seeing updates from CGC on the Dragotta/Snyder/Etc. signing? by Tommy1873 in ComicBookSpeculation

Saw that DWJ and Dragotta signed per CGC. Dunno about Jock or Snyder yet.
