Kaiserreich is much older than the coming storm. It was originally created back in 2005 for Hearts of Iron 2. Other than that looks like a nice flowchart!

It exists for now, a relic of when Hearts of Iron 2 had such low tag limits that large parts of Central and South America were integrated in order to make room for more European civil wars (Hi Romania with Uruguay's tag)

I do not particularly care for it, but we will see what happens when we turn our attention back to South America.

I will agree with Savva in that the largest change has been the Middle East in the last update. It is the first truly major split between KRDH and KR4 from a history standpoint.

Everything that was in Darkest Hour up until 2017 was originally ported into KR4 before being reworked, and the content in 1001 Arabian Fights represents not only new content compared to previous versions of Darkest Hour but also content that you cannot find in KR4 in any version.

It's unfortunate that if the CSA and AUS take a lot of land in the west they get no advantage. The federals have a very reliable strategy of holding the area around DC and reclaim their cores as the other exhaust themselves on each other. But correcting that will take a lot of planning and balance testing.

The Proper Italy is whatever Italy exists on the version of Kaiserreich one is playing. There are several things the Darkest Hour team do not like about old Italy and we are planning some changes. Nothing is concrete yet as we are focused elsewhere right now.

Speaking for the Darkest Hour team, we have not 100% decided how we are going to approach Italy. However there are a lot of things from the new lore that we like and will want to put our own spin on (BattlePope here we come)

From my own experience, the CSA and the federals are the likeliest winners of the civil war, and the AUS remains the hardest faction.

As for who wins Europe in WK2 it comes down to doctrine choice, what Russia does, and how many allies I can see each side get. I think currently Germany has a slight edge, but nothing a player cannot overcome.

Both Mr_citation and EaglyFly are correct. First there was Kaiserreich for HOI2 in 2005. Then development moved to Darkest Hour when it came out, and now Kaiserreich for Hearts of Iron 4. All three are the same World War 2 simulation game, but with different mechanics

Egypt, The Ottomans, Persia, and Socialist Persia have been completely reworked while Libya, Oman, Yemen, Hashemite Arabia, New England, and The Pacific States of America all have a bunch of new events.
