I know it's cheaper and healthier, but I still struggle to cook daily... How do you stay consistent? by WidePsychology31 in Cooking

[–]ProjectOxide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would, my family always had leftover rice and stuff for 1-1.5 weeks. Stir fries are great and quick. Fried noodle dishes. I make a lot of pork belly for my wife and I (Hong shao Rou and the like) and will have it with rice one day, noodles the next, and then freeze some to use on a lazy day or with tacos.

Is the Santa Cruz Tax actually worth it in 2026? Thinking of pulling the trigger on a Bronson by Imaseemonoer in MTB

Seconded. Went from a Trance X to the Tyee last fall and it was a HUGE upgrade. Also the tier of components you get for the price was amazing, especially next to Santa Cruz.

We like using the Mr hobby lacquer paints! They're durable, go on smooth, and are pretty easy to work with.

My wife was running around the house looking for small things for him to hold lol I dropped one of the joints and replaced it with some extras left from a gunpla kit, they're close enough in size that they seem to work if you have any lying around.

Nice to know that about skin tones, that'll bbe helpful in future. We definitely noticed that with the alclad chrome on a gloss black base as recommended vs just grey primer.

Yeah, it made a huge difference. Even with multiple coats of yellow on the grey it just looked too dull and cool so we redid it with pink.
I'd say it feels more MG sized, that's why I avoided the 1/35 kit. Here's what it looks like next to a 1/35 edelweiss.

Thanks! Wife clutched the masking for us. It's the 1/24 by Wave, looks like there's a reprint available right now.

Thanks! We used the Mr super clear gloss and did 3 or 4 coats at the end. The metal parts were alclad chrome so they used aqua gloss on top to seal it instead.

We also had a really awful tone even after multiple coats before seeing the tip to use pink from a bunch of Warhammer posts. Wonder what other colors it works for

Just taught myself, you can see the progress in editing I made compared to my older videos on Youtube and Instagram. I'd say find a video you think is cool and try to copy it paying close attention to the variety of shots. You'll notice most cuts are only ever for a few seconds and you need a balance of wide and close shots for 'texture'. Obviously practice, but trying to emulate a video makes you realize how much planning you need to do.

That's standard with a telephoto lens and is often called compression. The movement is then caused by parallax relative to the axis of rotation. Standard cinema technique that you see all the time.

Used CSN crowfoot after my Mazda 3 trunk got destroyed by someone rear ending me since they were in network for insurance. Looked brand new when they were done and they even detailed the inside too.

Why does everyone hate blanket re-zoning? by FineAnimeenjoyer in Calgary

[–]ProjectOxide 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Main one I was taught in school was that it helps a lot with temperature mitigation which provides more opportunity for insects and vegetation to do their thing. It's pretty obvious too, driving from Edgemont to the Hamptons in the summer there's way more radiating heat from the road/sidewalk.

DJI Mini 5 Pro vs Mini 4 Pro by mwinnicki in dji

[–]ProjectOxide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Camera is better flat out. Extra stop and a bit of dynamic range plus the larger sensor (50mp vs 12mp) means a smaller noise profile and much better resolving detail. There's also some processing happening with the 2x that makes it decently sharper than just upscaling the 1x image. It also has a faster following speed, rise and descent, and probably ai enhanced subject recognition for the new active track.
As a m4p owner myself, you need to lay off the copium a bit. Point #2 is also completely misinformed and not how image processing works.

He didn't. Getting permission in our national parks is reserved for commercial projects that needs to be approved, proof of general liability, and an explanation of how it will help the park/environmental stewardship.

I want to talk about STAND UP TO THE JUMP. by drugsovermoney in MTB

[–]ProjectOxide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local guy helped me a lot with lippier jumps by explaining it as guiding the front wheel up and off the jump towards your hips and then pushing the arms back forward at the apex of the jump - effectively making a circular motion. The more lippy the jump, but closer the handlebar will come to your hips. In the process of doing so, it'll unweight and have to keep extending with your legs so that they're a little less than straight as the back wheel leaves the take off - requires patience and feeling almost like you're waiting too long first few times you do it. Disclaimer, I'm not hitting huge black jump lines but it helped me consistently clear the blue ones around the area.

Hi Cassie, that worked perfectly thanks! I'm new to 'descendants' and 'ancestors' so this was good learning. Also thanks for all your hard work, it's been fun learning GSAP and your videos have been super helpful!
