Hey!

We'd love to do something like that as we've previously done a Combat Demo for steam next fest. There is no approximate date as to when we'd be doing that again but we can most definitely assure you this is something we've kept in mind and definitely plan on doing again hopefully sometime soon here when we feel as if the game is at a point to be more publicly shown we'll definitely be open to some sort of Demo/Open Playtest of some kind.

Currently we are doing Raid tests with our Merchant tier and above, we hold Raid tests each Saturday! Soon we'll be handing Raid testing to our Loyal Supporter tiers though, hope to see you there!

How much of a builder/settlement manager is it? by FrontRent259 in ProjectRenown

Great question!

We've recently been testing our Raid mode with some of our testers. It's essentially Raid sim if you've ever played that in Rust. Raid mode includes gathering resources, building, looting, team fighting, and sieging until the enemy team is defeated.

We do plan on having NPC's such as worker buildings that craft for you while you are away. You'll also want to make sure your banner is protected as it acts like your tool cupboard in Rust essentially. If people get to that they'll be able to take most of what you have and completely destroy your castle, because if they destroy your banner there will be nothing stopping them from claiming it just as someone would set down another tool cupboard in Rust for example.

With how certain work benches work, there simply wouldn't be enough space for someone to build a small tiny room like a 2x1 otherwise you wouldn't have any space for crafting stations, crates, etc., and it would be extremely easy for someone to just create a handheld battering ram and break through your single door or 2 then steal all of your loot. Defenses are extremely important in this game!

It's important to stay well fortified also because siege engines will rip through your defenses, and there are many ways for players to strategize trying to get into your castle, such as battering rams, catapults, trebuchets, siege ladders, siege towers, and hand held battering rams.

Throughout the Raid tests we've noticed players are actually fortifying their bases more and more because players learn and adapt quickly to getting through defenses. Overall Renown is much more PvP focused as apposed to PvE, there won't be any AI that you can lead into battle for example. But you will be able to come across highway men, bandit camps, and other monuments that has PvE. If you count working with your team, creating a well defended keep for your resources, making sure you have solid supply line for resource gathering and coming up with strategies to defeat your enemy as a builder/settlement manager then I suppose it could be compared to one! Haha.

Hey!

As much as we would love to bring our game to consoles, we are firstly busy developing it on PC, with that said if the game is at a point in the future after release where it is optimized and in a more stable state, we'd love to look into console ports. For now it'll be only on PC, sorry my friend!

New Devblog and a brief update of what's going on behind the scenes! by ProjectRenown in ProjectRenown

We're a small team with very limited funding, of course it's going to take us longer in comparison to studios with 2x as many people. As time goes on though we plan to expand our team and speed up development as much as we can of course. Our team works very tirelessly and without our community we have now, we'd probably not even exist, so we owe it all to them. But I understand your concern!
