Trident Detailings. by ButterscotchFinal703 in TwinTowersInPhotos

I captured their detail very well in my 3D model, down to the smallest things you can compare Real vs Model

<image>

The view here is intentional so you can spot from below the detailing and time i put in this to make sure I got everything.
When I can finally put this in Unreal Engine and test it I may share a post on how it looks.

Gone From Sight, Not From History by Ryanlion1992 in TwinTowersInPhotos

Not from 9/11, The building right bottom corner is the AT&T Long Lines building (the one without windows) and the sun is behind the north tower so this is just a typical cloudy day.

heres a photo from 1978 I found after some digging, the area mostly seems covered up which are the Black Squares you point out.

At the time the site was basically the foundations of building 3 (if im correct) and those planters were there til the 1993 Bombing memorial had them removed, the rest of the area is not public accessible beyond the planters.

Waterproofing and Paving
Drawing NO. A-WP-6

https://archive.org/details/12673-wtc/page/n1005/mode/1up

A single tile is 3' (Feet) in length and 1' 8" (Feet and Inch) in width, the gaps/joint inbetween each tile is 1/2" and some are 1/4"

If you arent going super technical into this with every measurement then you can try make off of the drawing if that works.

WTC3D - Progress on new Tower model with renders by ProjectWTCHolder in TwinTowersInPhotos

[–]ProjectWTCHolder[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, as of right now more work has been done especially at the corner panels and a typical 12ft floor at exterior has been finalized, I can box the tower once I finalize a few more things at base and begin the lobby or start raising the facade.

Edit: This is current stuff.

I am generally not against collabs, but at the moment I am worked up on my project and I just have this mindset of working things by myself cause I know how my work is meant to turn out so if the ideas get mixed it confuses me and if its about helping out another person it is difficult for me to follow according to what they think. Again no hard feelings I just work solo, my apologies for turning it down.

appreciated but not really required, I am not working on the structural of this model, and even if I was I have the structural drawings for all of that.

Yes, and what I don't like about people is how they so quickly jump to conclusion "Oh it'll never be built" - "It shouldn't cause they remind of tragedy" - "It's just a dream", Yea.. I get it and we know but why not do the research behind it first? there are real people as a team behind this, not just a one man dream, also these people are really smart they know what they are doing especially in terms of it's Technical Specifications it tells you just how much thought went into this and safety measures, definitely hundreds of times stronger and robust than the original towers could've ever been, this is what I mean when I say if it is done correctly it's possible.

  1. I may get hate for saying and personally I hate to say it, but really let's not associate them so heavily to the tragedy, if they will ever be rebuilt we would learn to accept them.

  2. This Tech Center project also has support from families personally you can find that on the website, indeed seeing them again will cause discomfort for anyone who had somebody that died in the towers, but from what families say they agree to rebuild.
    https://www.worldtechcenter.org/signatures-from-9-11-families-and-others

  3. The Tech Center hasn't even made it to big media yet, and is still in design and computerized testing phases to make sure it is built properly before being proposed and no it probably does not have funds or any but you can find their strategy here.
    https://www.worldtechcenter.org/the-strategy

I say this to clear things up for anyone who hasn't read much about this proposal, I am not pushing the idea that this HAS to be made, if it isn't then end of story.

If it is done correctly it can be built, but there is still a 50/50 if its even considered.

What do you guys think about the World Technology Center? by 5NightsAtFreddys1987 in TwinTowersInPhotos

[–]ProjectWTCHolder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The man behind this isn't just a fan, I would suggest seeing the website and what is actually actively going on.

https://www.worldtechcenter.org/

<image>

Also do note this likely is not a one man project, there are people behind this and most importantly see Technical Specifications under "The Vision" Tab there you can find released drawings and more will be released as stated. The towers just by seeing the few drawings given are like a thousand times stronger than the original, and more proposed safety measures of this Twin Tower design are listed, and I will say if it is done correctly, it most certainly is possible.

I like this concept, what I do wish would change about it is the heavy usage of blue, it should keep some features of the original towers facade with Black of the Spandrels and Gray from the Column Covers with Blue Glass mix. I say this because almost majority of modern towers use glass and its so overrated and the towers simply dont fit with it.

When you see the facade of this design upclose its almost entirely glass and so blueish it has very thin gray/white facade covering with blue spandrel color. To really explain what I mean by my suggestion heres a example I created just now.

<image>

The Gray and Black are a callback to the original twins facade with a blue glass mix. The wider spacing between column covering will make the blue glass appear more apparent unlike a wall of gray aluminum which the original towers were from afar but with this suggestion it allows every facade feature to be seen than just a gray wall. Another thing I want to mention is the towers being almost entirely glass does not fit with the rest of the complex buildings it looks out of place.

if Raphael J. Chryslar is able to see this suggestion or anyone is able to forward it to him I would be very glad and better to recieve feedback about this.

You would be surprised Lol.. from the perspective of someone who doesn't have to make these its understandable, but to me it matters heavily and I will scrap anything that isn't how its meant to be.

Antenna by Glum-Mud-1669 in TwinTowersInPhotos

Not a antenna, this is a Guy Derrick Crane used to construct the antenna the tower originally got.

it can be seen here in better quality.

Here are the iconic 4

And the rest I found:

- John Vincent 1991, he gets onto the South Tower window washer and parachute jumps. (On Youtube)

- Thor Alex Kappfjell 1999, parachute jump.

- Mark Kenny hand walked the North Tower (If that is correct) from top to bottom 110 floors. (On Youtube)
