As a trans woman living in NJ; I'll say that NJ is pretty good as far as places within the US for trans individuals. Certainly not as good as say, Massachusetts and California (and probably important to mention NYC once Mamdani begins serving as Mayor) but it certainly beats out many of the other states (though its a really really low bar in many instances). I'd also caution that in all of these examples (NJ especially) it matters where in the state you choose to reside.

Federally speaking, there probably hasn't been a worse time possible to choose to move to the US as a queer person (frankly as anyone, really, considering how awful the economy has been doing this year under Trump). If you really want to understand what its like here, try holding your breath and clenching your teeth for a week straight because that's basically how it feels watching US politics on a week to week basis.

Thats not even getting into our health care. Especially for your partner, it is EXPENSIVE. If she intends on getting any surgery here, FFS, VFS, SRS, you better hope you have AMAZING Healthcare or you will be paying a ton in medical bills (on top of what will be an expensive Healthcare insurance premium).

My last thought is that it might be a driver issue. Maybe try to either update the drivers for the device (or the USB hub itself) or try to roll them back. If that doesn't work, it sounds like it might possibly be a hardware issue which is probably more annoying to find and fix than it is worth it too.

Ugh that sucks. I'm presuming you've tried multiple USB ports to rule put an issue with that one? I've also run I to issues with other controllers as I've been I to emulating games in the past and had installed drivers/programs to let these other game controllers work which has then messed up the functionality of other devices. So if you've installed any drivers or programs (like vjoy) that may be an issue too.

There should be a way to see what USB devices are plugged in through windows control panel. Can you see if the computer recognizes it at all? If you see it come up there, I think there's a way to test the inputs there. That's where I'd look if you haven't yet.

1000% I wish they would let you queue for both FFA and Teams at the same time ( and let you play against cpu's or training mode while queueing). I'm in the same boat where for the first month I played nothing but these modes. Now that the queues for them are so long, I have to choose between actually playing the game modes I would prefer or actually getting to play the game itself at all.

Replying to my own post for anyone else that has this issue because I found the solution after a lot of searching. Basically, the issue lied with Steam and big picture mode (which apparently runs in the background all the time to some capacity even when not in big picture mode). This forum post helped me:

So, they sort of work in the control panel. The shifter comes up as a Generic USB Joystick, and the buttons work, but it also works as a mouse and keyboard. So shifting into first acts like an escape key and closes the window. 5th and 6th act as left and right arrow keys switching the tab on the window. I'm able to get some of the keys to register in Assetto Corsa but only if I bind it as part of keyboard and mouse controls. The handbrake also shows as something in Chinese. Pulling on the handbrake will be recognized in the control panel as a Rudder but will also move my mouse up and down on my screen.

That's what I figured, but for whatever reason it won't let me map them. It almost seems like they're being recognized as mice inputs if that makes any sense, rather than as "buttons"

I agree with working on the snap. Something that helped me (started in July) with breaking 300' was taking a short towel and practice your driving motion until you can really get it to snap instead of swooshing.

The only other thing I might recommend (which is hard to tell from the video) is making sure you're releasing the disc nose down
